Bohemia announces Take On Helicopters: Hinds

Bohemia’s released four new shots of Arma III. The hardware shown is pretty serious business: tanks, APCs, even spy planes. RPS has them. The military sim’s out in Q3 this year.

Ofcom: ITV ArmA 2 gaff a “significant breach of audience trust”
UK regulator Ofcom has ruled that ITV misled viewers by airing footage of Bohemia military sim ArmA 2 as real-life footage of the IRA shooting down a British Army helicopter.

Take On Helicopters demo released
Bohemia Interactive has announced the demo for Take On Helicopters is now available. The taster includes the following for you to try out: one multiplayer scenario, two single-player scenarios, three time trial courses, three training sessions, a 30×30 km section of the Seattle terrain, a limited version of the 2D scenario editor, Free Flight mode, and both light and medium helicopters. You can download the demo from Bohemia, Atomic Gamer, and GamersHell among others.

ITV mistakes ARMA 2 as ‘Secret IRA Terrorism Footage’
An ITV documentary which aired in the UK on September 26 – and looked into claims that the deposed autocratic ruler of Libya, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, supported the IRA – was found to contain footage of a helicopter being shot down from a video game instead of actual, raw footage of the event in question.

New studio formed by ex-Bohemia Interactive and 2K Czech members
Members from the teams responsible for both Operation Flashpoint and the Mafia series have joined forces to create Warhorse, a new Prague-based studio working on a yet to be announced RPG.

Bohemia’s Carrier Command also has an E3 trailer
Remember Bohemia Interactive’s Carrier Command reboot? It still exists. The developer put out an E3 trailer as proof, as you can see below. Nothing’s been seen on this since September 2009.

ARMA 3 gets live-action E3 teaser
