Black Ops 2 sold over 1 million copies at midnight launch, says GameStop president
Black Ops 2 sold over 1 million copies during its midnight launch at GameStop alone, the retailer’s president Tony Bartel told Bloomberg via email. Analyst Michael Olson, according to Gamespot, has estimated the game sold between 6.5 million and 7.2 million units day-one sales, which would rival Modern Warfare 3′s day-one 6.5 million units last year. The Infinity Ward developed title generated $775 million in revenue its first five days on the market, eventually hitting $1 billion in 16 days of availability.

Trent Reznor composing theme music for Black Ops II
Trent Reznor is the composer being the theme music for Black Ops II, according to USA Today. “I have always looked to that franchise as the cutting edge of what seemingly unlimited budgets and full-on not cutting any corners can do in the current day and age,” said the Nine Inch Nails frontman. “There is a lot of reservation and angst and sense of loss and regret and anger bubbling under the surface, so it didn’t make sense to have a gung ho patriotic feeling kind of theme song. It has to feel weighty.” Reznor’s previous game credits include Quake and originally Doom 3 until he had to leave the project.
