SWTOR: Rise of the Hutt Cartel live, launch trailer released
The first digital expansion for Star wars: The Old Republic is finally live to all comers. Yes friends, now you can survey your surroundings in keen detail. This is what we live for; this is why the bones of our hands are permanently fused into the WASD configuration – so we can gaze at virtual landscapes in freedom. Beautiful. It also allows you to find hidden objects or something; I don’t know, I’m too busy questioning my life choices to read the whole thing.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer survey asks for map feedback
Although it has officially moved on from full-time Mass Effect 3 support, BioWare is still keeping an eye on the RPG’s multiplayer. The developer is asking fans to take the time to answer a survey about the maps, rating them difficulty, atmosphere and more. This feedback could help inform future Mass Effect multiplayer outings, should any be produced, so you potentially have a chance to help shape the franchise’s future.

Mass Effect writer Drew Karpyshyn has said filmmakers should focus on the story of humanity’s search for a place in the galaxy, which much more intrinsic to what the franchise is than, say, Tali or Garrus. Don’t shoot the messenger.

SWTOR game update 2.0 video is rife with Scum and Villainy
SWTOR game update 2.0 went live today, and Bioware has released a new video rife with the Legions of Scum and Villainy. The later is a level 55 operation, and contains various, vicious enemies you’ll face on the planet Darvannis. The video also give you a look at the new Legacy Achievements system. The game update went live yesterday alongside early access to Rise of the Hutt Cartel, along with guild rewards such as a stackable 5% boost to experience. Hit up the video below.

BioWare debates “accepted” industry view that female stars don’t sell
Dragon Age 3: Inquisition lead writer David Gaider has said at GDC that the industry will not fully embrace the notion of female stars unless there is clear financial motivation to do so. The old belief is that female character don’t sell, and this is a view Gaider would very much like to see challenged.

SWTOR has 2 million new accounts since going F2P, new customization features planned
Star Wars: The Old Republic has gained 2 million new accounts since going free-to-play, according to the latest State of the Game letter from executive producer Jeff Hickman. He also said that “thousands of new players jumping in every single day,” and the MMO’s “high capacity servers are teeming with people.” This spring, the game’s Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion will launch, and a new customization feature giving players more options to change their character’s appearance using Cartel Coins will be released for the MMO sometime this summer. Star Wars: The Old Republic offers double XP weekends
BioWare is throwing a series of double XP weekends for Star Wars: The Old Republic, kicking off at 6:00PM GMT on March 15. Mass Effect: Paragon Lost now available in the UK
Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, the anime movie detailing the adventures of Mass Effect 3 squaddie James Vega, is out now in the UK. That is the end of the news, but the BioWare Blog is offering a Reinforcements Pack for Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer to the first 200 UK fans to send in a photograph of themselves holding the newly-released film.

Mass Effect 3: Citadel soundtrack available for free
Head on over to the BioWare Social Network to download the soundtrack to Mass Effect 3′s latest and last DLC, Citadel; it’s free. I haven’t had a listen yet, but hopefully the pack includes the various tunes available in the claw machine in the arcade. Citadel has Commander Shepard acquiring an apartment on the eponymous space station, foiling a plot against her, and catching up with friends old and new. I rate it five fangirl sighs out of five.
