Capcom details Comic Con showing, promises exclusive RE5 trailer
We’re not that bothered about missing E3 this year, but we do wish we were going to Comic Con. Capcom’s detailed its showing at the San Diego event, taking place just after E3, and it sounds “fun”. Aside from the enjoyable aspect, the firm’s promising an exclusive Resident Evil 5 trailer, so that’s a good enough reason to not let your guard down after E3.
Here’s what you can expect from Capcom’s Comic Con games-wise:
Bionic Commando
Bionic Commando: Rearmed
Dark Void
MotoGP 08
Mega Man 9
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Neopets Puzzle Adventure
Flock!
Plunder
plus Capcom Mobile gamesExclusive trailers:
Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil: Degeneration CG movie
SF IV CG animated mini-movie trailers- plus, some surprise game demos and trailers!
Vivendi’s making a big showing there as well, we’re told, so if you’re in the area following the LA show it may be worth hiring a car and driving south. We did that once. We were trying to get to Mexico. We’ll tell you about that another time.

First Bionic Commando multiplayer trailer released
We missed this in the noise of everything else going live from CAPTIVATE08 this afternoon, but Capcom’s put out the first trailer of Bionic Commando online multiplayer.
Swinging, cities, men in power suits, shooting, explosions. We defy you to tell us there’s anything else in there.
After the link.

The embargo’s up on content from Capcom’s CAPTIVATE08 event, and Eurogamer’s done some work for once. We’ll just link to Tom’s stuff, as everyone else appears to be asleep.

New Bionic Commando screens and movie
Here. The movie shows off a jungle environment, which makes a nice change to all the city-based media released over GDC. No release date as yet.

GDC: New Bionic Commando owes a lot to Japanese input, says Capcom
Capcom producer Ben Judd has told videogaming247 that the upcoming next-gen Bionic Commando game owes a lot to input from the Japanese arm of the developer.
Although primarily developed by GRIN in Sweden, Judd admitted that certain elements were directly based on Capcom Japan’s feedback.
He said the boss fights were “more typical of Japanese design, like Zelda, than Western”, and indeed other enemies – like the mechanised walkers you fight in the jungle level on display at GDC – have particular weak-points consistent with traditional Japanese game design.
The game’s now about 50 percent complete, according to Judd, although Capcom has yet to slap a release date on it.
VG247 could only stare happily over Judd’s shoulder as a series of American journalists fought over the control pad, but it looked very sharp, with huge draw distances, very varied terrain and the ability to lock your grapple arm onto virtually anything.
“There are some objects in the world you can’t do it to,” Judd said, “like, you know, water”. Thanks Ben.

GDC: Bionic Commando will have PS3 “Trophies”
Here. The PS3 version of Capcom’s Bionic Commando will have a “Trophy” system, which sounds like the direct equivalent of Xbox 360′s Achievements.
Producer Ben Judd said that in addition to the main game objective, players would be faced with “mini challenges”, such as defeating ten particular enemies or performing a pair of back-to-back zip-kicks using the grapple hook.
We should have more on this later.

GDC: Bionic Commando gameplay movies
Here. The files show Mr Commando running around warry, big city environments, swinging on lamposts and shooting people with what appears to be a very sticky auto-aim.
We’re seeing this later today, so keep an eye out for some news.

Street Fighter IV and both Bionic Commando titles for GDC
The arcade build of Street Fighter IV – the same as that being shown at this week’s AOU show in Japan – is to be shown at GDC next week, VG247 can confirm. The game, which is probably the best thing ever despite the fact we’ve only seen a few screenshots, will be playable.
In addition, both the 3D, next-gen re-envisioning of classic shooter Bionic Commando, and the anticipated XBLA remake Bionic Commando Rearmed, are to be shown. The former will be demoed, but will not be playable. The latter is likely to be playable, but that hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
All of which should make you extremely happy. We’ll be at GDC in San Francisco next week, so keep it here for all the Californian gaming news you can stomach.
