Ruffian creative chief Billy Thompson reckons completing modern games might not be challenging enough. Crackdown 2 should be a laugh then, innit.

Crackdown 2 will run at 30fps when it releases next year. That is according to Ruffian’s creative director Billy Thomson, who revealed the news to VG247 in an interview at a hands-on for the game last month.
He reveals that they will keep adding stuff to the game until they go above it, stating they need to keep the framerate “constant”.
“We will just keep hitting it until we hit 30. Because it does need to be a constant 30. As soon as we go above that, we need to stop.”
No exact date yet. Needless to say, it’s a must-buy.

Ruffian’s given up more on Crackdown 2 in an interview with Edge, saying the game is set in a future version of Pacific City and has all-new gameplay.
“From an environmental point of view, you probably would look at it as being an entirely new map,” said creative director Billy Thompson.
“It’s still Pacific City but further on in the timeline. We’ve altered a great deal, and think people who enjoyed the first game are going to be really pleased when they enter this one.
“And we’ve made sure the gameplay’s altered significantly.”
There’s more through there about the game’s E3 reveal and the whole zombie-infected thing.
