Sony has announced that if you pre-order God of War: Ascension through Best Buy, you’ll nab an exclusive Viking-centric multiplayer weapon inspired by the Viking series on the History Channel. While supplies last, every copy will come with a voucher for the DLC weapon “Mjölnir,” or Hammer of Thor, for use in Ascension’s multiplayer mode. The code also unlocks the Mythological Heroes Multiplayer Pack, which includes four armor sets inspired by: Achilles, Orion, Odysseus and Perseus. Hit up the PS Blog for more information.

If you’ve pre-ordered a copy of BioShock: Infinite from best Buy, check your account and make the order is still active; Side Questing reports a glitch wiped out an estimated 3,000 pre-orders this week. Happily, the issue is easily remedied by calling Best Buy customer support, which will offer a $10 gift card for the inconvenience. BioShock: Infinite releases in early March, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Xbox Live Gold cards are now available from Amazon for $35 in a bid to match Best Buy‘s offer at the same price.

The offer applies to physical Gold cards, with Amazon digital codes going for $40 and Best Buy having already sold out, reports Joystiq. Three-month Gold memberships are going for $21 on Amazon but stay at the full price of $25 at Best Buy, which is offering physical Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 12-month Gold membership cards for the $35 sale price, evening it out for some.

Best Buy has revealed its Black Friday deals – yes, it’s that time of year already. Customers can pick up the the 250GB Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle, which includes Skyrim and Forza 4 Essentials Edition and one month of Xbox LIVE Gold for $200 – which is a $100 discount. There’s also a Black Ops: Declassified Vita Bundle for $200, and a Super Mario 3D Land 3DS bundle for $150. There’s more though, so head on through the link to start planning your shopping spree. Microsoft seems to have issued a US price cut on Xbox 360 holiday bundles. As noted by Dealzon, the 250GB Skyrim and Forza and 4GB with Kinect bundles are both now $50 cheaper than RRP at GameStop, Amazon and Best Buy, with the latter two offering free shipping for extra thrift.

The price cut has not been officially detailed, but Kotaku‘s sources suggest it will hold through January at GameStop at the very least.

Microsoft’s Larry Hryb has announced the welcome extension of the Xbox 360 subscription deal to US chain retailers Best Buy and Gamestop. The deal, which includes a 4GB Xbox 360 and Kinect for $99 plus two year’s subscription fee of $14.99, was previously only available through Microsoft’s rare retail outlets until the firm announced a change of heart earlier in the month.

As in the UK, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will favour US retailers with exclusive DLC characters. Best Buy and Amazon offer both Michelle Chang and Angel with pre-orders, while GameStop pre-orders include four characters, with Ancient Ogre and Kunimitsu making up the numbers. The tag-team fighter arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September.

Square Enix has outlined a number of pre-order bonuses for Hitman: Absolution, including exclusive weapons and suits.

Folks that pre-order Battlefield 3 through Best Buy can pre-load the shooter today. You’ll need to have Origin installed to do so. At midnight on October 25, Best Buy will provide customers with a code to unlock the game. Offering digital pre-orders is a move by the box retailer to counteract flat year-over-year revenues for the second quarter of its current fiscal year, which saw a decline in game’s sold.
