EA really wasn’t kidding when it said its acquisition of PopCap would help get the casual developer’s games on more formats faster; Plant vs. Zombies and Bejeweled 2 are now available on Barnes & Nobles’ Nook HD and Nook HD+ devices. But that’s not the end of EA Mobile’s plans, with Real Racing 2, Tetris, Monopoly and The Game of Life all expected on the tablets over the holiday season. PopCap plans to release two Bejeweled games for iOS, which will retire the current version of Bejeweled 2 + Blitz in order to switch over to a new freemium F2P model, which recently launched on portable Apple systems. Blitz contains the same 60-second gameplay as the previous version, and includes Facebook integration and a new user-interface for the Retina display screen. Coins will act as the currency behind the F2P version, and players will be able to unlock additional coins using The Daily Spin mode once per day. Bejeweled will be re-released with HD graphics and retina display support with the following three game modes: Classic, Zen, and Diamond Mine. Thanks, Shack.
