The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been announced by Activision. The game is in development with Beenox, and builds on the story of the previous game with an alternative take on the events of the upcoming movie.

Activision has announced that those who pre-order Skylanders SWAP Force at Target will receive the first-ever magic pre-sell cards that will unlock an in-game upgrade when Portal Masters place it on their SWAP Force Portal of Power. Those who reserve the Starter Pack at participating retailers will also receive a free LightCore Hex Skylanders Giants character. Neat! Skylanders Swap Force will arrive in North America and Australia on October 16 and in Europe on October 18 for 3DS, PS3, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360. A release date for the PS4 and Xbox One versions are to be announced at a later date. Vicarious Visions is handling the PS4 version, Beenox the Wii version, and n-Space the 3DS version

Amazing Spider-Man :Ultimate Edition is web-slinging its way to Wii U in March. Activision has just confirmed the game and has fired us across a batch of screens.

The Amazing Spider-Man will release on Wii U next spring complete with all DLC and Gamepad functionality, Marvel announced during NYCC 2012. Optional motion controls will be included, and the Gamepad touchscreen can be used to navigate the in-game menu and GPS functions. Thanks, Polygon.

Further to Activision’s last minute dating of the console versions of The Amazing Spider-Man, StrategyInformer tells us the PC version is due to release on Steam on August 10. The Beenox-developed open world action game is out now in the US and hits Europe by the end of the week ahead of the film’s launch on July 3.

Activision has released the launch trailer for The Amazing-Spider Man. The game lands in stores today in the US on PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 as well as 3DS and the DS family of systems. It’s out June 29 in the UK.

Activision has released a new video for The Amazing Spider-Man, which details the game’s web rush mechanic. According to the game’s executive producer, Brent Nicholas, web rush allows the player to slow time in order to make strategic choices regarding Spidey’s next move. Once activated, a variety of navigational and combat options can be chosen such as attacking your enemy stealthily from the shadows or just rushing in to provide a beat down.
