Battlefield: Bad Company beta starts March 25, says DICE
DICE has announced that the multiplayer beta for console shooter Battlefield: Bad Company will begin on March 25.
keys will be made available exclusively through IGN, as revealed by the developer in the Major Nelson podcast earlier this week.
“We’re really excited about this beta since it gives us a chance to let a wider audience play our new multiplayer game, ‘Gold Rush’. The feedback coming back from something like this is crucial for us as developers and will help us with the final changes and polish in the game,” said the game’s senior producer, Karl-Magnus Troedsson. “Battlefield and FPS fans get their first glimpse into how tactical destruction can be applied in multiplayer gameplay. We think offering two of the multiplayer maps will give gamers a fantastic experience and some great insight into the game.”

Battlefield: Bad Company for “summer” release, says DICE
Speaking in the Major Nelson podcast, DICE senior producer Carl Magnum has confirmed that EA shooter Battlefield: Bad Company will release for Xbox 360 and PS3 this summer.
“It’s coming summer this year,” he said. “We don’t have an official date just yet.”
Keys for the closed beta are going to be distributed by IGN, but Nelson’s giving some away on his blog. No date has been given for the launch of the beta other than it’s “coming up” and it’s “pretty soon”.

Bad Company and Merc 2 to ship in “fiscal 2009″
In EA’s third quarter financial statement, just released, the company said it expected Battlefield: Bad Company and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames to ship in fiscal 2009. EA’s financial year ends on March 31, meaning the games could hit anywhere between now at the end of March 2009.
The statement was the only forward-looking, specifically game-related point in the report aside from CEO John Riccitiello saying he was “looking forward” to the release of Army of Two and FIFA Street 3. No specific release dates were given.
No mention was made of Will Wright’s Spore, which has now almost certainly slipped into the back half of the year.
