  • BF1943 breaks Live and PSN speed-sell records

    EA said today that Battlefield 1943 is the fastest-selling day one and week one Live title of all time. Bonzer. The game is also the quickest-selling day one and week one PSN game in North America. Between the two versions, the DICE shooter’s moved over 600,000 units since its launch on July 8. PR here.

  • PS3 players unlock Air Superiority in Battlefield 1943

    The Battlefield 1943 Twitter account updated over the weekend to reveal that PS3 owners now have access to the Coral Sea Air Superiority map. The map opened up after players collectively recorded 43 million kills in the game. Xbox Live members reached that target last week. Thanks, Joystiq.

  • Battlefield 1943: Coral Sea opens up on Xbox Live

    Looks like Xbox Live players were the first to open the Coral Sea Map Pack for Battlefield 1943 by reaching 43 million kills. The Air Superiority game mode was also unlocked. So far, PS3 users have clocked in at 22,868,004 kills. Looks like it didn’t take as long as we thought it would, folks. Grats.

    EA’s confirmed that Battlefield 1943 will release on July 8 for 360 and the day after for PS3. The shooter – rated at 9/10 in the latest Edge – will set you back £10/1200MSP. Which is probably great news. PR after the break.
