Large text Banjo patch now live

banjo23.jpg

Rare’s released a patch that fixes the Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts SD TV text issue which rendered much of the game’s dialogue impossible to read on old, fat tellies.

A menu option for “Large Dialogue Text” has been added, meaning the problem should now be a thing of the past.

Destructoid has some before and after shots in case you need convincing.

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts gets firm release date

banjoa9.jpg

Microsoft has announced that Rare bear, Banjo Kazooie’s third outing entitled, Nuts & Bolts, will be released on November 14.

Rare recently confirmed that a demo was “completed or in certification”, so if you’re still not convinced, you’ll hopefully be able to try before you buy.

Check out all of our Banjo coverage here. Press release after the break.

Thanks, SI.

Rare on Banjo: “Crown jewel gameplay mechanic” to be shown in US tomorrow

banjo8.jpg

Speaking to videogaming247 this morning, Rare community manager George Kelion said that the leaked Banjo shots from tomorrow’s MS Gamer’s Day don’t show the meat of the game.

“You can’t tell altogether that much from the screenshots other than the fact that it’s pretty,” he said.

“We haven’t revealed the gameplay mechanic yet, which is the crown jewel of the game. So people really are better off waiting until tomorrow when we’ll be revealing it in-depth.”

Kelios was at pains to tell us that the rather beautiful next-gen version of the bear’s adventures certainly isn’t a racing game. Just so you know.

Banjo will be shown to the press at 5pm BST in San Francisco tomorrow.

MS Gamer’s Day – Banjo image leak turns to flood

banjo7.jpg

“Whoops”. While half the world’s press heads to San Francisco for Microsoft’s Gamer’s Day tomorrow, the event’s assets appear to be charging online with gay abandon. Following the first few Banjo screens popping up last night, a further 12 have arrived. There are some vehicle renders to go along with the screens and it’s all looking great. Hopefully there’ll be some left to see once the embargo lifts tomorrow. After the link.

First Banjo shots leaked

Update: Just added a heap more to the gallery.

So much for the embargo. The first shots of next-gen Banjo have appeared online, and it’s all looking rosy. You can see them after the break. The game’s going to be shown at Microsoft’s Gamer’s Day in San Francisco on Tuesday, so keep an eye out for plenty more then.

Confirmed: Banjo assets due May 13, 5pm BST

banjo4.jpg

Microsoft UK has just confirmed that its Gamer’s Day assets will be released on Tuesday, May 13 at 8am PST, or 5pm BST if you’re in the UK.

While the firm has yet to make an official statement on what’s to be shown at the San Francisco event, we can tell you 100 percent that Banjo will be shown, as will a host of other 360 titles for the rest of the year.

We’ve also learnt this morning that there’s no mention on the official event agenda of the heavily rumoured motion-sensing controller supposedly used in Banjo.

So. Pictures of bears next week. We’re meta-excited.

Microsoft to show Banjo and 360 motion controller next week

banjo3.jpg

Update: We’ve just had it confirmed that assets from the event will be released at 5pm BST on May 13. See here.

Kotaku’s filed this under “rumour” but, in easy terms, it isn’t. We’re not 100 percent on the motion controller, but Microsoft will be showing Banjo at a US event next week, and it isn’t just going to be American press there: plenty from the UK are going. From the sound of it there’s going to be a big reveal of year-end product, so keep your eyes peeled for info next Tuesday. We’ll have some more on this for you later today.

Rare confirms Banjo for 2008 release

Just in case Shane Kim’s previous confirmation wasn’t enough, Rare community manager George Kellion has stopped by this forum thread to assure that Banjo 360 is still on track for ‘Holiday 2008′.

“Barring the coming of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, you should be playing Banjo 3 before the end of the year (providing you buy the game, that is),” Kelion said.

To allay fears that the game will be strictly aimed at a younger audience he replied: “I can assure you that we haven’t been focused on 4 year-olds when creating the new Banjo game. We hope that you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what we’ve cooked up.”

There’s a brand new website and fresh details coming very shortly too, apparently. We can’t wait.
