Project Awakened lands on Steam Greenlight
Phosphor Games has put its superhero action-sandbox title Project Awakened on Steam Greenlight. Now you have another place in which to cheer for it. You can still toss some money at the project on Kickstarter, where it has 18 days left to reach its $500,000 goal. A create-a-player prototype video is below. Thanks, Joystiq.

Two early Awakened trailers plus 15 minutes of Hero
Is it morbid fascination with the deceased Midway and its not-quite-swansong Hero that makes us so interested in Awakened? Not, it’s that is sounds bloody brilliant. Two trailers have turned up, in their rough-and-ready pre-alpha state, and you may gaze on them through the jump.

Phosphor Games’ Awakened is based on Midway’s canned open-world game Hero
With Midway Chicago being sold to Warner, the team behind the open-world action game Hero lost all assets, code, art and everything else pertaining to it in the process. So, when the remnants of that team went on to form Phosphor Games, it decided to continue work on the game in the form of Awakening, but unfortunately, it had to start all over from scratch.
