Avalanche has put the kibosh on yesterday’s rumor that Just Cause 3 will be released in 2012. Furthermore, the firm’s Christofer Sundberg told Eurogamer that the studio is ”not releasing any game in 2012,” and the Xbox World report was “just a rumor.” Earlier this year, Avalanche said it has two titles in the works for 2013, and recently released Renegade Ops on consoles. The game launched digitally for PC today.

In time for the release of the portable version of Cars 2, Sony has announced a new hardware bundle.

As detailed on the US PS Blog, the $159.99 bundle contains a a black PSP-3000, a 2 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, a copy of FIFA 2012 on UMD and a voucher to download Cars 2: The Video Game from the PlayStation Network.

The bundle will go on sale on November 15. The Avalanche-developed Cars 2 goes on sale a week earlier on November 8; it’s also available on DS, iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

“I think we’ll definitely continue with digital downloads. It’s very different, very fun, and once again it’s a very nice deviation from the big projects. I’d say it was a good way for teams to get a new boost of energy. Also, some of us just want to do games that draw a lot of inspiration from older games like old arcade games and stuff like that so yes, I definitely think so.” – Avalanche’s Axel Lindberg on the firm’s presence in the the digital market after Renegade Ops.

Avalanche Studios has said it chose New York City as the location of its new US studio, due to it being less expensive than California.

A new video for Just Cause 2’s DLC has been released.

In it, Rico Rodriguez is utilizing previously released DLC, such as the Chevalier Ice Breaker, as well as the upcoming Black Market Boom Pack and the recently released Black Market Aerial Pack.

The Black Market Aerial Pack, just in case you forgot, includes:

• F-33 Dragon Fly Jet Fighter
• Multi-lock Missile Launcher
• Parachute Dual Thrusters

The Black Market Aerial Pack is available now and the Black Market Boom Pack will be available on May 26 – both packs are $1.99/160 MSP on PS3, Steam and Xbox 360, respectively.

Just Cause 2 was released in the US yesterday, and to mark the occasion, Avalanche and Square released the final video in the Anatomy of a Stunt series.

In it, you get to see Rico Rodriguez’s signature take down move, which he apparently likes to call the “Joyride of Death”.

Total awesomeness ensues.
