Skullgirls coming to Japanese PSN
Skullgirls is coming to PlayStation 3 in Japan, Famitsu reports. This is good news for fans in the west; developer Lab Zero Games says it has the greenlight on a sequel but publisher Autumn Games is a little tight on cash right now. Some extra sales and a good reception from one of the largest and most skilled populations of 2D fighter fans in the world will certainly give the indie franchise the boost it deserves. Skullgirls has a vocal fanbase, is finally headed to PC, and is even going to EVO this year.

Skullgirls update fleshes out feature list
The first update for Reverge Labs’ 2D cartoon-fighter, Skullgirls, is almost upon us. Project lead Mike Zaimont has listed the changes expected to hit once Microsoft and Sony have approved the patch, which include improvements to online play, game play tweaks and a raft of other additions. Skullgirls can be plucked from the digital ether for PS3 and 360; a PC version is due later in the year and will feature cross-platform play with the PlayStation 3 version, which is nice.

Skullgirls launching on PC later this year, hits EU PSN today
Autumn Games has announced it’ll bring animated 2D fighter Skullgirls to PC later this year. The game, which launched on US PSN and XBL a few weeks ago, will come to keyboard and mouse with previous updates from the console version on PC. Distributors include Steam, Origin, GameFly, GamersGate and GameStop.
The news comes on the day the game comes to the European PlayStation Store following a delay after the original release on the US PS Store and XBLA.

Skullgirls hitting PSN in Europe May 2
Sony has announced via the EU PS Blog that Skullgirls will finally arrive in European territories on May 2 via the usual PSN update. With that out of the way, Autumn Games has also announced Reverge Labs’ original soundtrack for the game, featuring music from Michiru Yamane, Reverge Labs’ Vincent Diamante, and composers Blaine McGurty and Brenton Kossak, is now available on iTunes and CDBaby for $9.99. It will be made available through other digital music stores “in the coming days.” More information on the soundtrack can be found via the game’s website.
