A heretofore encountered title popped up on the Australian Classification Board’s database today. Narco Terror hails from Time-O and Prison Break developer Zootfly and is a multi-platform games published by Deep Silver, with an MA+ rating. There’s no mention of it on either developer or publisher’s websites.

Yesterday, Bethesda’s classic The Elder Scrolls: Arena turned up on the Australian Classification database, listed for multi-platform release. Naturally we all got very excited about playing it on our tablets but yeah, no, it was all a mistake. The free RPG is not headed to any other platforms besides PC, Bethesda told Gamespot, and the publisher has contacted the Classification Board to have the listing corrected.

All Australian states and territories have signed off on seven recommendations for classification reform harvested from the 2012 National Classification Scheme Review.

Mortal Kombat will finally get an Australian release next month, The R18+ Komplete Edition hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 1, for $40 – something of a bragain price, especially given it includes all DLC released in the interim. The original 2011 was refused classification, but thanks to the introduction of an R18+ ratings category (for “high impact violence, blood and gore”) on January 1, Australians can now legally get their hands on NetherRealm’s fighter.

Classic Game Gear turn-based strategy effort Crystal Warriors has been awarded a G rating by the Australian Classification Board. The database entry unfortunately lists the title as multiplatform, so it’s not clear where the 1991 portable title is headed, although Nintendo’s Virtual Console services seem a good fit. Sega classics have also released on Steam and console networks.

Australia’s first R18+ rated game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, released today, with iGEA CEO Ron Curry celebrating the first step in a “master plan” to prepare Australia’s games industry for the future.

Mortal Kombat will release in Australia on May 29, Kotaku reports. The ninth core entry in the gory fighter was refused classification back in 2011, and again in handheld form last year. After the introduction of an R18+ ratings category for video games on January 1 2013, Warner Bros resubmitted the title in its Komplete Edition form, and secured an adults only classification.

Having agree to implement legislation in a parliament meeting yesterday, Queensland has announced its support for Australia’s R18+ ratings category for video games.

Trine 2: Director’s Cut was a Wii U eShop launch title in the US and Europe, but missed its Australian launch date because Fronzenbyte didn’t submit it to the Classification Board in time, the developer told Ausgamers. The co-operative puzzle platformer is now expected locally in mid-December and will be 20% off during its release period.
