I don’t know what NOS is, but according to MTV Multiplayer it’s an American energy drink, and if you buy some you can redeem a code via a promotional website unlocking an exclusive character for Assassin’s Creed 3 multiplayer. The Sharpshooter costs one NOS point, is available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and looks pretty badass; check out an artwork through the break. Assassin’s Creed 3 is out now on both consoles, with PC and Wii U launches in November.

Call ahead if you’re unsure whether your local store is staying open, and if you really must get hold of a game you’ll be unable to play when the electricity goes out, Kotaku also notes that some vendors have broken street date in compensation for the cancelled launches.
