Arma 3 will go into beta on June 25
Bohemia Interactive has released announced that Arma 3 will go into beta on June 25. Once the client is updated, new content, weapons, vehicles, and scenarios will be added. There is also talk of a new “Independent” faction and eventually, player-created missions using Steam Workshop which will be integrated into the mission editor. The later will not be available during the beta, but sometime after the game launches. Thanks, PC Gamer.

Arma 3 screenshots show content from upcoming Beta, full game
Bohemia Interactive has released a new batch of Arma 3 screenshots. Each were taken from the upcoming Arma 3 Beta, and from the full game. Another pre-E3 stream of the game will hosted on Twitch this Saturday, June 8 at 17:00 UTC.

Arma 3 Alpha updated to version 0.58
Bohemia Interactive has released a new update for the Arma 3 Alpha, and in version 0.58, new dedicated combat and stealth radio protocols have been added along with tweaks to lighting and audio. Also, multiplayer dedicated server administrators now have access to a “separated executable” to host such servers more conveniently. Have a look at the entire changelog here, and to automatically update to the new version, just log into Steam.

Arma 3 alpha gets first major update
Bohemia pinged us to point out that the Arma 3 alpha has been updated. There are plenty of changes to take in but the key items include improved network performance, reducing vehicle lag; an end to some peculiar crashes; and that you can no longer throw grenades under water. Okay, maybe that last one is interesting mainly to me. Full patch notes are available on Steam.

Arma 3 Alpha Lite is now available
The free, limited version of the Arma 3 Alpha, called the Arma 3 Alpha Lite, is now available. It does not include multiplayer or modding support, and is invite-only, and a spot can be obtained from people who have purchased the Arma 3 Alpha. Invites will also be randomly distributed via the Arma 3 social channels and as giveaways by media outlets. The ArmA 3 Alpha Lite expires on June 15, does not provide access to the beta and does not include a copy of the final game. The game releases in Q3 2013.
