Guild Wars 2 March updates to expand WvW combat, Living Story content
ArenaNet has dropped a pile of new informaiton on upcoming changes to Guild Wars 2. In an interview with MMORPG.com, principle programmer Habib Loew discuses how the world versus world system will be overhauled to make it more rewarding. Meanwhile, in a blog post on ArenaNet’s site, Living Story lead Angel McCoy shares details of how this new kind of of narrative will evolve, and promises to ramp up content at the end of March.

Guild Wars 2 guild missions detailed, trailered as game goes on sale
ArenNet has released a new trailer showing some of the new guild missions coming to the MMO with the update on February 26. The developer has also updated its blog with some pertinent information on the matter. On top of all this, the game is on sale until February 25. Guild Wars 2 patch to address irregular loot drops issue
MMO players are always complaining that they don’t get enough decent loot drops, but it looks like Guild Wars 2 fans were correct. In a forum post, ArenaNet said it had investigated complaints and believes its found the cause of the issue, and will correct it in the game’s next major patch, due later this month. You’ll still receive fewer drops than in gear-focused MMOs, but ArenaNet is also making certain areas of the game more rewarding, equipment-wise.

Guild Wars 2 introduced new PvP map, Spirit Watch

Guild Wars 2 schedules four hour maintenance today
Guild Wars 2 will udnergo scheduled server maintenance later today. The downtime kicks off at midnight PST and runs through 4:00AM PST, which is prime gaming time in Australia and New Zealand but not too bad elsewhere. You won’t be able to log into either North American or European servers, and the MMO’s forums, account registration, and online store will be inaccessible. The Black Lion Trading Company will also go down, and will not return for a further two hours past the maintenance end time.

Guild Wars 2 – World vs World changes delayed to next month
ArenaNet has delayed the Guild Wars 2 World vs World changes to next month, according to game director Colin Johanson. Originally planned for release this month, the changes will now be applied in March. Other updates planned for the MMO include “continual optimization of game models and data compression” to reduce performance issues, reports

Guild Wars 2 mandatory password change next week
Guild Wars 2 players who have not changed their passwords since September 2012 will be required to do so on February 7. In a blog post, ArenaNet explained that a system of blacklisting certain passwords used in past hacking attempts was introduced in September, and has been so successful that it wants everyone to benefit. If you’re using ageing login details, head over to the MMORPG’s account management site to change your password – or just wait for Thursday, when you will be prompted to switch things up or be barred from logging in.

Guild Wars 2 server “Guesting” coming with January update
ArenNet has announced that the Guesting feature for Guild Wars 2 will launch with the January update. The feature allows players to “visit” different worlds (servers) temporarily, so they can quest with friends and other members of the community. Think of it as visiting the house next door but not taking up permanent residence. There are a few restrictions, which you can find outlined in the post. Free server transfers will also go the way of the Dodo with the update, so if you want to change worlds without paying anything, you will need to do it before it goes live on January 28.
