EA holiday iOS mega-sale goes live
EA has announced that its (seemingly quad-annual) mega-holiday sale has been activated on the App Store. iOS gamers will be able to find nearly the entire EA catalog of games for $0.99 or 69p.
The list is much too big to link all of them here, but simply type “EA” into the App Store’s search bar and you’ll be beset by a deluge of awesome gaming opportunities. If you’ve been looking to pick up a new Madden, FIFA, Scrabble, The Sims, C&C, Mirror’s Edge, or Dead Space game now’s the time.

PopCap: Working on multiple platforms at once leads to “lowest common denominator thinking”
360-PS3-PC. It’s the simultaneous game release Holy Trinity, and without it, all our goat sacrifices would be in vain. Also, business models. PopCap worldwide game development head Ed Allard, however, isn’t quite so gung-ho about the industry standard. After all, what’s the point of developing for multiple platforms if your game only fits one of them?

Levine on apps, mobile gaming: Complaining won’t change anything
Devices like the iPhone have taken the gaming world by storm as of late, but we’d be lying if we said the tiny tech titan hadn’t made a few enemies along the way. BioShock creator Ken Levine, however, thinks that those who view this as some sort of industry-damning app-ocalypse need to pull their heads out of the sand. Like it or not, the future is now. First Dead Space 2 iPhone trailer pops out, shouts “boo,” repeats

EA’s released a trailer of its iThing iteration of Dead Space, and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t impressed. Classic Dead Space dismemberment and visceral swipe-based melee attacks are at the top of the menu today, resulting in a tiny game that looks to pack a pretty big punch.
The trailer is, however, missing any real downtime, so it’s tough to judge how well Dead Space’s suffocating “outer space is trying to murder me” atmosphere holds up. See the full thing for yourself after the break.
