The new adventure pack includes but is not limited to content from the movie, and allows players to follow epic storylines in Conan’s realm.

Set 20 years after the movie storyline, The Savage Coast of Turan finds players being sent by Conan, now King of Aquilonia, to aid his buddy Artus as they him unravel the conspiracy and plots surrounding the city of Ardashir in Turan.

The pack adds all new encounters, the large new area of Ardashir, new dungeons and raids as well as new armor sets and monsters which were shown in the theatrical movie trailer.

“We have worked closely with the Funcom creative team since 2003 and carefully crafted a unique look and feel for Conan’s world,” said the game’s producer and Paradox CEO Fredrik Malmberg. “Many of the concepts, locations and designs from the game development were utilized by the film team for consistency, and we are thrilled that many elements of the film, distributed by Lionsgate in the US and UK, will feel familiar to the Age of Conan players.”

The pack is slated for release in August alongside the film, and concept art for The Savage Coast of Turan pack is below.

Conan the Barbarian hits theaters on August 19 in 3D. Other familiar names starring in the Marcus Nispel-directed film include Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, Bob Sapp and Rachel Nichols.

Funcom has detailed three new solo instances for Age of Conan.

According to the latest developer post, there’s a new level 80 instance that’s available every 20 hours called Refuge of the Apostate. There’s also two Auto Content Generation dungeons called The Breach and the Forgotten City, respectively. Each will scale to a player’s level if it’s between 40 and 80, and contain three repeatable quests designed to advance players’ endgame.

Funcom also said that by this time next month, the team will hopefully be “deploying the Dreamworld integration and setting the stage for this great new content, as well as the new team instances.”

The plans is to also talk a little more about the next focus for PVP content.

Funcom’s Q1 report for 2009 stated the company pulled in $7 million in revenue, and while that was less than the previous quarter, the company is pleased.

Age of Conan received good news in the way of longer customer subscription periods. New account sign-ups rose compared to Q4, and higher levels of game activity were also reported.

Anarchy Online wasn’t as lucky, as revenues from the game were reportedly declining.

Funcom was also pleased with the initial reaction to its upcoming MMO The Secret World, and between it, AoC and it’s casual sector the company finds itself in a much better state looking forward.

Funcom is has launched a free trial for Age of Conan.

In an attempt to reel in more subscribers to the struggling MMO, the game’s director has posted an open letter on AoC’s official site, detailing the plan.

Also mentioned was AoC’s new update, expected to land on the test servers sometime this week with the only hints at content being a new gem crafting system and some class changes.

The development team also talked about the possibility of changing the game’s “Combat Combat Combat” scheme to “Content, Conflict, Characters and Community”.
