Sony Network Entertainment International president Tim Schaaff announces retirement
Tim Schaaff, president of Sony Network Entertainment International, has announced his retirement. Sony Computer Entertainment boss Andrew House will take over his position. Sony may bring Gaikai to non-gaming products
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal. SCE head Andrew House said Sony’s acquisition of Gaikai will empower a streaming games service running on gaming platforms, but that other Sony products are “absolutely within the frame” of the company’s plans. On a related note, House confirmed Sony expects Gaikai to continue operating as normal, meaning a deal with rival TV manufacturer Samsung is unlikely to be scuttled.
