Amazon has listed the Xbox One controller for the same price as the DualShock 4. The recommended retail price listed by Sony is $59/$59/€59/£54 and Amazon lists it for the same. The Xbox One controller is also listed for around the $60 mark. However, a Microsoft spokesperson has said retailers often list hardware for speculative prices and it has not announced a recommended price. Via Gamespot.

Xbox One has been priced at a place-holder value of £599.99 at Amazon UK. The site is now accepting pre-orders, ahead of the official pricing reveal.

Amazon has followed ASDA’s lead and has trimmed the cost of Nintendo’s 8GB Wii U model down to £149 on the nose. Both retailers have now cut the cost of Nintendo’s rig by £100 apiece.

Amazon is holding a couple of gaming promotions, with about 2,000 items on sale. Thanks to Major Nelson, we can highlight a pretty good one of interest to many of you – 12 months subscription to Xbox Live Gold for $40, down from $60. Some European Amazon customers have received Wii U copies of Scribblenauts Unlimited, according to RevoGamers. The 5th Cell game was delayed at the last minute, and Amazon’s policy of shipping for release date seems to have pre-empted Nintendo’s announcement. That the game shipped at all certainly backs up rumours of a last minute recall. The delay is still unexplained.

After 93 days in the top 100, The Legend of Zelda’s Hyrule Historia is in the top position on Amazon’s charts. In the UK it’s number five, but it’s only been in the charts for 39 days and is on the rise. A very limited edition of the 272 page artbook was announced in November.

Xbox Live Gold cards are now available from Amazon for $35 in a bid to match Best Buy‘s offer at the same price.

The offer applies to physical Gold cards, with Amazon digital codes going for $40 and Best Buy having already sold out, reports Joystiq. Three-month Gold memberships are going for $21 on Amazon but stay at the full price of $25 at Best Buy, which is offering physical Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 12-month Gold membership cards for the $35 sale price, evening it out for some.

Amazon has expanded its In-App Purchasing to include PC, Mac, and web games. This should make things much easier for users to make in-game purchases when playing monetized games, and even better than you can look over your purchase history through your Amazon.com account. Amazon has a new $300 PlayStation 3 bundle which offers a 320GB Slim (but not super-slim) console; one DualShock 3 controller; and a year’s subscription to PlayStation Plus. Microsoft seems to have issued a US price cut on Xbox 360 holiday bundles. As noted by Dealzon, the 250GB Skyrim and Forza and 4GB with Kinect bundles are both now $50 cheaper than RRP at GameStop, Amazon and Best Buy, with the latter two offering free shipping for extra thrift.

The price cut has not been officially detailed, but Kotaku‘s sources suggest it will hold through January at GameStop at the very least.
