Legend of Grimrock’s free toolset enters public beta testing today. Almost Human will release the dungeon editor as a free update to the RPG, so modders can build their own dungeon crawling challenges and adventures. The update will include an “intuitive graphical interface, instant in-editor preview, comprehensive modding capabilities,” and built-in Steam Workshop support. A new trailer featuring the Dungeon Editor is below. To participate in the beta you need to have a Steam account and the game installed on Steam. Legend of Grimrock is 50% off at GOG.com for a limited time only. The turn-based dungeon crawler offers a pretty massive amount of content, especially at a reduced price tag of $7.50, and is soon to expand with a level editor. The indie effort has drawn lavish praise and holds an 82 average on Metacritic; that’s quite a lot higher than several games you probably paid $60 for, just sayin’.

Almost Human has updated its website in order to let folks know the level editor for Legend of Grimrock is not only still in the works, but “starting to shape up well.”

Almost Human has said in a blog post that it has made all of its money back from developing Legends of Grimrock, adding the costs were covered “many times over”. A new update for the game, 1.1.4, has been released, and will fix various bugs and other things.

Almost Human has released the launch trailer for Legend of Grimrock which is now available through the developer or GoG and Steam. The game was inspired by classic RPGs like Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master.

Through the link you can get the game through the developer or GoG.com, and soon on Steam. On GoG, the dungeon crawler is only $11.99 until the April 10.
