First D.I.C.E. Europe Summit to be held in London September 24-25

The first D.I.C.E. Europe Summit has been announced for London, and will take place September 24-25. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences said it will be held at the Royal Garden Hotel in London, and keynotes from Peter Molyneux, Wargaming’s Victor Kislyi, EA’s Rich Hillemn, and Natural Motion’s Torstein Reil are scheduled. Todd Howard to provide opening keynote at 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit

The AIAS has announced that Bethesda’s Todd Howard will be providing the opening keynote during the D.I.C.E. Summit. Howard’s talk will focus on game development and player experience and is titled “Why We Create, Why We Play.” “The 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit will kick off with one of the most distinguished creative minds of our time with Todd Howard as our Opening Keynote speaker,” said Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences president Martin Rae in the press release. “Todd’s many contributions to the industry have greatly advanced our understanding of player interaction and engagement. His games take players on journeys through distant fantasy worlds and post apocalyptical universes that are driving a new generation of entertainment.” D.I.C.E. will take place February 7-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Red Rock Resort.

Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce joins AIAS Board of Directors

Blizzard has announced that its co-founder and EVP of product development, Frank Pearce, has joined the Board of Directors for the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. Pearce joins 15 other industry leaders representing Blizzard, Capcom, EA, Google, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony,as well as independent representatives from Epic Games, Day 1 Studios, and Insomniac Games.
