Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be talked about “in earnest” by 4J Studios soon, according to lead producer at Microsoft Roger Carpenter.

4J Studios has said it is working with Microsoft to allow Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition saves to be transferred from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. The firm said it “can’t say it’ll be there until it’s 100% working.” The game was announced for Xbox One at E3 2013 and a launch date has yet to be announced. Earlier this week the firm announced it was currently preparing the game for testing on PS3 now. The game will also see a release on PS4.

Minecraft Xbox 360 developer 4J Studios has confirmed it is preparing the game for testing on PS3 now. It also won’t come as a PS4 launch title, but then again, we don’t think anyone said it would be.

Minecraft Xbox 360 developer 4J Studios has confirmed that not all of the game’s ‘Mash Up’ texture packs will be game specific, and that – if legally able – current PC texture packs could be ported over to the console build.

Minecraft Xbox 360 is receiving a ‘Mass Effect Edition’ mash-up set this month, courtesy of 4J Studios. It adds a bunch of textures and character skins based on the series, in conjunction with BioWare.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Title Update 12 has gone into testing, and it brings with it Ocelots, baby villagers, Iron Golems, the Redstone Lamp, rare drops and new AI for mobs, and all sorts of other nifty inclusions, changes and fixes. The entire changelog can be combed through over on playXBLA. A release date will be announced at a later date. There’s other good news as well: the game has now sold over 8 million copies.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition has sold 7 million units, according to a tweet from 4J Studios. The console version of the PC juggernaut, which passed the 11 million mark recently, had hit 6 million sales at the end of March, so that’s another 1 million in three months time. As of May, the Minecraft Pocket Edition had topped 10 million in sales. At this rate, just imagine the massive numbers Mojang will be declaring come Minecon in November.

Minecraft Xbox One studio 4J Studios is now in talks with Microsoft over the possibility of save transfers between the Xbox 360 game and incoming next-gen edition. Last week it was both confirmed and denied that the saves would work, which confused a lot of people. We’ve got some clarity here.

Minecraft Xbox One is to be considered a new product when compared to its PC and Xbox 360 counterparts, according to Microsoft’s Phil Spencer. The exec has promised bigger worlds, the ability to take your creations to multiple devices, but he has said the leap may rule out save transfer between Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game. Bad times brah.

Microsoft’s Phil Harrison stepped on stage to talk indie support. so far, over 200 indie developers have launched over 400 games totaling billions in revenue. The first indie title announced for Xbox One was Minecraft. Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will deliver the “Minecraft” experience to Xbox Oneand includes larger maps for more complex structures, expanded multiplayer features and enhanced gameplay. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is out today on disc in the US. It contains everything included in the XBLA version. It arrives June 6 in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and June 25 in Canada. Those in the UK, France, Ireland and Spain can pick it up on June 28.

Minecraft Xbox 360 Update 11, which contains mainly bug fixes and the like, has gone into certification so it should be released sooner rather than later. The issues getting stomped by 4J Studios include explosion lag, messaging problems, spawn limit issue, and reduced Ghast sound volume. You can view the entire changelog over on OXM.
