Pigs shot down: First Duke Nukem Forever reviews are mixed
Oh dear. After 14 years, Duke Nukem Forever launches today in the UK via 2K and Gearbox. The verdict? It seems to be mixed right now at the minute. So far, only a few reviews have gotten out right now, but you can get them below. If you have any links to add, do so below and we’ll add them in.
DNF launches in the US on Tuesday.

Duke Nukem Forever was “75-80% complete” when 3D Realms closed in 2009
Triptych Games’ president David Riegel has revealed in a podcast over on the official Duke Nukem Forever site, that the game was 75-80 percent complete when 3D Realms shut its doors back in 2009.

Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford has said Duke Nukem Forever will review well, but in the end, numbers are irrelevant to the Duke.
Meanwhile, the developer is seeking to credit past contributors to the long-awaited title.

Broussard: Uncharted series “on par” with Half-Life
3D Realms’ George Broussard has pinned Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series up with the very best after playing the heavily-hyped second game.
“Amazing single player experiences,” he said, writing on the Shack forums.
“Nearly, if not, on par with Half-Life 1/2. I haven’t felt this giddy over a game series since Half-Life.
“This is epic badassery right here. Believe the hype.”
Uncharted 2 is on the verge of history, still being listed as the highest-rated PS3 exclusive of all time on Metacritic at 96 percent.

Bethesda no-comments Prey acquisition
Bethesda’s issued a fat “no comment” on news this morning that its grabbed the Prey IP from Apogee.
The 3D Realms shooter now appears to be in the publisher’s hands, as you can see from this USPTO filing.
Zenimax has also filed a new trademark on the property.
New game? By id? Yes please, great God of speculation.

Prey rights shift to Zenimax, new trademark filed
Apogee’s Prey now appears to be in the trusty hands of Zenimax, as you can see from this USPTO filing. Native American FPS still has a home, clearly.
Zenimax has also filed a new trademark on the property.

Duke Begins was being developed by Gearbox

Take-Two Interactive has revealed via new court records that Gearbox Software was the developer for Duke Begins.
The game was originally revealed via a court filing by 3D Realms.
Duke Begins was apparently part of an agreement between Take-Two and 3D Realms in 2007 with Gearbox handling development.
Since all the court hoopla, the title has been sidelined “for the time being” but has not been canceled entirely, according to the new court documents.

Duke Nukem Forever screens just keep on coming

3D Realms has released more Duke Nukem Forever screens, this time over in its Facebook page.
According to CVG, Take-Two has been trying to get the Xbox 360 version released through another publisher, and rumors going ’round say there’s another “non-DNF in the works”.
Point is, do you even really care anymore?
