PLEASE respond to this question any and everyone; am i the only one who thinks the auto attack button from final fantasy 13/ 13-2 makes combat very boring. Besides the story's, it ruined the game form me. All you have to do basically is push one button over and over. No finding enemy weaknesses or scrolling through skills and magic you've acquired.
Thoughts?

It's different from what we're used to. Basically, now it's about switching at the right time. How much can I keep doing damage until I have to switch over to my healing guys? No argument in that I like the old school battle system better though.

Yes, it's shit. Traditionalists hate it.
Blame the fact most westerners won't touch a tactical game, preferring "action!" and "oooh shiny!".

The battle system kind of works against difficult enemies. There are high level monsters/bosses in FFXIII you need to have the perfect set up and perfect timing to win, and yeah, you'll have to manually select the skills your leader uses yourself in those battles instead of relying on auto-battle.
The unfortunate fact of the matter is that the vast majority of the game you can pretty much live with com/rav/rav and hammer "ok" and you can win the battle without even looking. The only challenge in the game is Gran Pulse, which takes far too long to reach.
Oh yeah, and what the fuck is up with Leader dies: Game Over? That made no sense to me.

You do know you can turn it off, right? I only used it in one battle ever and that was the first battle. Saw it was shit. Went to the options. Turned it off for the rest of both games.
And as for the leader dying equals game over, I don't have any problem with that, as a Shin Megami Tensei fan, so I had seen that before FFXIII.
