   So, I have a PSP(2000) and I get a headache whenever I play it: not a bad one, just a sort of mild ache-behind-the-eyes. It was worse when I first started using it, and gradually got better over time, but it still happens.

   I've tried all the brightness settings, playing in different lighting conditions, holding the PSP at different distances & taking breaks every so often, but none of that makes much difference.

   I suspect this is due to some kind of eye strain, perhaps related to the refresh-rate of the PSP's screen. I've never had this problem with other portables or screens. I can (and sometimes do) stare at a DSi or laptop screen for hours on end and I'm fine.

   I bought a cable to hook the PSP up to the TV, (and that's what I've been using to avoid the headaches as it looks OK on the smaller of my two TV's) but that kind of defeats the purpose of owning a handheld, plus the PSP screen just looks a lot better.

   Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone happen to know the refresh rate of a PSP-2000 screen? Any way around it, or must I stick with playing it on the TV?

   I've held all PSPs except the 3000 and encountered no problems. There might be something wrong with your PSP, have you tried borrowing from a friend and see if the headaches persist?

   Odd, I have tried all PSP versions except Go and never encountered this.
   Maybe check with doctor if its too serious.
   Or as Rosseu said, try someone elses psp just to check its some sort of hardware fault.

   This is very odd. As a SONY® hardcore fan, I'm lost. Perhaps try asking at the official SONY® forums?

   Here's some other useful information I can provide you with: try googling it, or visit a health specialist!

   Ask someone else preferably someone with good eyesight to play and see if they get head ache or not. If they dont, get your eyesight checked and if they do then do something about the psp.

   I have a PSP3000 and have had no problem. I also use the PSP to TV cables on a small 19inch moniter I have. Easier to see. But like you pointed out, the PSP screen is nicer and being tethered to a TV counters having it mobile.

   EDIT: after googling it lol(thnx Daman) it seems that sometimes moisture can get behind the screen and distort the image. When you use the Tv ofc your not using the screen so that might explain it.
