Tbh, i don't think that the length of a campaign automatically decides if the game is good or not. You might have a game like Skyrim you can spend hundreds of hours in, but everything is mediocre. Then you have a game like RAGE, which is much shorter, but the gameplay is just so much better.
But regarding the Crysis franchise, i'm not really anticipating this installment in the series. It has gone downhill after the first one for me, especially multiplayer wise :/
Damn...Skyrim and mediocre? No those are two things that don't go together well IMO. I love Skyrim. Around the time that i actually started to enjoy RAGE however, it was already over. Rage was static as hell and pretty goddamn boring. But we all got our own views on those things of course :)
Sure i'd rather have an amazing 5 hour experience in a shooter full of action and fantastic moments than a boring-ass shooter that simply drags on. But 5 hours really is a bit crazy.....but i agree with you. Really not a huge Crysis fan anyway.
SKYRIM is a legendary mediocracy of this generation without any substance. Fact.
@Erth As are your comments, then?
Skyrim is a good game. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't need to either.
@Giskard, My comments are just legendary.
Skyrim is not a good game. It does everything worse then previous games. Soon there won't be any RPG elements in it at all.
I admit that not everything is fantastic in Skyrim, but goddammn if it's not a fantastic game. Sure the combat could use some REAL improvement in the next one, but it was still quite an improvement over Oblivion nonetheless. The dungeons were lovely and compared to Oblivion pretty much all looked different. Story is still not Witcher quality or anything but easily a lot better than Oblivion.
Nah, it improves over Oblivion in many aspects and i love that game. Mediocre is not what i'd call Skyrim, no way José.
Combat is the last thing i'm thinking about Elder Scrolls games.
I want my RPG back in to the series like it was in Morrowind which was almost a perfection in Elder Scrolls game.
I can't comment on that much, cause i never really gave Morrowind a chance. But if anything..they are only gonna 'dumb it down' even more. Look at what they are doing to Gears of War with Judgment, it's crazy.
@Moon: You can't get any dumber than Gears of War. It's a known fact, and they're playing it quite cheesy and dumb. How can you dumb down a game that's ENTIRELY about shooting and sawing people in half?
Crysis 2 was close to 15 hours if you didn't rush through. I'm hoping Crysis 3 will be the same, and that this guy just rushed through like most people do.
@Giskard
Yeah you know, they are removing stuff that totally doesn't need to be removed. You can't go down anymore, you just die right away. No more executions, no Locust in the MP mode and so on. What the seriously fuck?!!!!
This site is great for game times. People tend to over state shortness in games ...
yeah right, no matter how awesome a game is, 5hrs for 60$ is like shit in the face, seriously I am not into Crysis, but I vowed to myself to never buy any game with a SP less than 12hrs, no matter what, if I want it, I will wait till a price drop.
If SP people keep supporting developers to make games that are 5hrs long, then SP is pretty much doomed, that is one of my biggest fears for Next Gen.
Also I know some people hate it, but I freakin LOVE Assassin's Creed III, probably best of the series so far -I am 15hrs into the game and didn't finish it yet, so if you want to discuss it, NO SPOILERS PLEASE- I just love long games, I feel respected.
And here I thought they promised open world of sorts, that would kinda imply a long SP... Oh well, don't really care in this single case, since never been a fan of Crysis, just want to see if my pc can handle it on all max settings, because that would pretty much mean I won't have to worry about buying new one for another couple years.
But usually short SP is a horrible news to me, since it's all I'm playing.
It's gonna come down to other reviews and see what they have to say. Like i said, i saw several people who had finished Crysis 2 in 5 hours and i was like damn...that sucks. Then i started to play it and when i had finished it, i noticed how it had taken me 10+ hours. It all depends on if you rush like a crazy mofo i guess.
Doesn't it depend on your gameplay style? I know Crysis 2 took me longer, because I was being stealthy.
I had beated Crysis 2 within 6 hours and this was me playing in a stealth fashion. I am not the type of person that rushes through a game unless I rented it which the faster I beat it the less I have to pay for it which I bought Crysis 2 on the 360. It was alright but I felt it wasn't worth the 60$ with the short campaign and then the half baked MP.
No surprise really, you could beat Crysis 2 in like 30 minutes without watching cutscenes. Game is weak anyway, even Warfighter was more fun that Cryis 3 :F
/e: and yeah, skyrim is the weakest TES game ever. Even Fallout 3 was better imho
took me 9 hours, tbh once I unlocked the best cloke ability, I just walked past some enemies.
Hey Everyone,
I am doing a walkthrough series of this game to show off the game play.
Also I am giving away a free copy of this game

That's good news ;) I didn't want to buy Crysis 3 before reading some reviews. And if it's as good as it seems to be - I'll buy it.
