Main thing to point out here is PS4 is going to be more powerful for games than 720, which would be better suited for multitasking. Assuming that both are released at same price point, PS4 seems a better proposition for me as it will probably provide better graphics (no teething problems as no cell) at same price, but multimedia fans maybe better off with a 720.
It clearly seems both companies aren't interested in taking a heavy loss, so undercutting each other seems out of question.

So what do you find more interesting? Playing better looking games or watch a movie, listening a song and playing a games at the time (Multitasking)

I believe the most important role in a video games console is... games (duh!). But seeing multimedia capabilities is always a plus, at least for me.

I think a problem starts to appear when there isn't a line that separates the gaming and multimedia function. If the multimedia centric capabilities of said console start to "invade" the gaming ones, dedicated gamers will feel that the product isn't targeting their interests.

In the end you'll buy the best console that feeds your needs. Maybe they should create the next console with the best of the two worlds.

Might be a bit too early for people to choose but with all the "rumours" it seems playstation is the better choice right now.

Both systems are weak.

Better graphics my ass. I want to see at least one Sony's tech demo at 20 february that will surpass current game on my PC (Crysis 3) that will be on Ultra, 2560x1440 resolution and 60 frames per second.

Everyone know that they won't surpass it and that's why I won't call it next gen at all.

and so far Xbox will have better OS then Sony's and that is much more important then hardware and because of that stats are irrelevant here.
If you remember PS3's OS was slow as hell and because of that a lot of memory was just for the OS while Xbox 360 had better ram and in the end better OS aka better ports.

Xbox will be based on Windows 7 or 8 so they already know what will be in the system.

what I prefer? I prefer Sony fanboys to shut their traps. System specs are not official in both systems.

What? Being next Gen has nothing to do with it "surpassing" anything. It could be 'technically' worse than the original PlayStation and it will still be apart of the next generation of consoles.

I'm proper sick of all the rumours and speculation - no disrespect Dragon.

I usually love all this stuff but for some reason I'm really tired of it all.

I don't even care really. So long as the games keep getting better.

Actually, I don't really find anything else useful to talk about right now. So why not join the hype train :D
Only problem is this invariably turns into a slug-fest.
See, these aren't rumors anymore. Tech specs are not something that could be hidden now. I could bet both ps4 and 720 will manufactured by the same Taiwanese company (lowest bidder) and probably on same facilities. Moreover, when most people reach same conclusion, its probably safe to assume they are right.
I wont even buy them at launch, but nevertheless its interesting to see the diverging paths they are taking.

I am with Deacon on this Dragon, I just couldn't care less right now. Once we know more, confirmed info, we can start to get a better picture. The PS4 hardware seems to have a slight edge on the romour curcit right now. But as Erth pointed out, that doesn't mean anything.

Just way too early to get too excited. And like Deacon, and others, I am tired of and burnt out over talking about it.

Most likly next gen MS/Sony systems will be copies of this gens offerings, but with better graphics. That might be enough for some, but not for me. I am tired of what mainstream consoles have been pimping out for a few years nows. Boring.

I would rather play PC games that aren't on Consoles like Civ V, Rift, DiabloIII, TorchlightII, Guild Wars2, etc. So unless the new MS/Sony systems do something that makes me smile(and same games, new coat of paint ain't gonna do it), I won't care anymore in a year then I care right now.

Yeah. I'm not excited for Next gen at all. So far I don't see what it will offer that is better then on 360 or PS3.

High definition gaming? Nope. It's still going to be in 30 frames per second and 1080p at best. Why I need this If my PC already in 2013 can do much better then that with additional content? Only fanboys know.

Games? So far there are nothing exciting so far at least from Sony. New Killzone? MEH. New Motorstorm? Okay... Rumoured games from Sony so far are existing old games that were not really that popular to begin with.

95% of the reason why I bought PS3 to begin with was because of some third party exclusive games, but that was a time when Sony actually made some money, but now, it's different. Sony does not have them at all. Sony in 2009 year said that it is not a really good idea to spend money on the third party games because it is expensive. They can't even support their handheld device (Vita) with games.

Not interested at all.

P.S. SteamBox sounds exciting. Exclusive Half-Life 3 on it will make me buy this thing day one. That's for sure.
Valve has a chance to prove me that I still can purchase a console.
