Picked it up for €16 at CJS. Stinky cheap, really.
I've played four hours so far, and I am definitely liking it. Controls are sublime, it feels great fighting as Dante. I love how many options there are into combat. Something I really missed in DMC4.
I've gotten over how he looks and what bothers me most right now is the lines. I think the voice actor is doing a great job and I love how cocky he is without sounding annoying. Just some of the lines are pretty cringe-worthy while some just cracks me up. Hit or miss really. His exchange with the Succubus is pretty hilarious.
The plot is also very strong for now. That's what I've had most problems with in past DMC games. The plots are just really out there, and mostly you've just played them for the gameplay. This time it feels like there is real meat on the story.
And level design is absolute brilliant. Love going into a new area and figuring out how to proceed. I could do without the cinematic whenever enemies show up. It's kind of annoying that they do that since I just want to control Dante.
Playing the PC version, and I can crank everything up which is just awesome. Even v-sync. Not sure if excellent optimization or just sub-par graphics. Everything looks great though. Thanks QLOC!
The game is so far kind of easy. I think another difficulty beyond Nephilim would be good. Hopefully, that'll be unlocked upon completion of the game. I've only died a few times so far.
