In a similar theme to the Xbox 720 DOA thread:
Well, not that dramatic, but still not a great start:

Nice amount of doom and gloom though.
The price cut thing actually really helped the 3DS, but as Lex I think pointed out, 2 Nintendo consoles cutting price so soon after launch might pollute the brand a bit.
Mind you, all was forgoten quite quickly with the 3DS and now it's selling like the preverbial 'hot cakes'.
Once the Xbox / PS4 release, the Wii U won't get all the 3rd party stuff, thats pretty much a fact (power ratio is not there). So, assuming that, the only thing Nintendo and other devs will be able to do is put out Exclusives.
This strangely could make the Wii U a console of pure exclusives but with more power than the original Wii.
Already we have:
Zombie U
NSMBU
Nintendoland
Rayman
Lego Undercover
Bayonetta 2
Pikmin 3
new 3D Mario
new Mario Kart
Wii Fit U
New Monolith RPG
Fire Emblem
Scribblenauts
New Zelda
Zelda Windwaker HD
Yoshi's Yarn
Super Smash Brothers U
Warioware
P 100
Monster Hunter
I mean, thats already a huge list considering the thing has only just come out. I think thats more exclusives than have ever got released for 360 in it's whole lifetime (joke!).
Then we'll probably see things like:
Zombie U 2
Starfox?
Capcom exclusive?
Prof Layton U?
And maybe more at E3.
So it looks like the Wii U will become the console for exclusive games, maybe even moreso than the Wii due to extra power and HD.
Question is, will they really struggle without third party?
If a lot of those games come out this year / early next year, when the PS4 / 720 arrive the Wii U will have almost 30 exclusives maybe more. At best the 720 / PS4 will take a year or so to establish themselves, maybe that total will reach 60 plus?
It's a crazy amount really.
