   To coincide with the 30 year anniversary I thought I'd start up a little friendly competition thread.

   Open to all users with a Wii U.

   As the 30th Anniversary Virtual console games are coming out slowly and are only 30p to purchase, I thought it would be fun to start a highs score completion.

   First up:

   Balloon Trip. I think the challenge should be the Balloon Trip mode of the game (unless someone has better ideas?)

   So highest sore and furthest distance coverd wins?

   Good thing about Wii U is you can screenshot your high scores so we should all ideally add each other to verify.

   My friend code is: Monkeygourmet or MonkeyG if that doesn't work (still haven't got the idea of friend codes worked out yet!)

   This should be fun as it will culminate in a VG247 recreation of the film 'KIng of Kong', as the last game to be released is Donkey Kong in June!

   Anyway, good luck, please post your ID's and high scores, I'm off now to practice! :)

   i think this is a FANTASTIC idea! i am short on time atm though. will try to play it the next days. i already found out that i suck at the game...only 2 balloons? what is this? freaking demon's souls balloon party wii?

   i have yet to play my wiiU, i waiting for the right moment to tell my wife really, maybe on valentines day, i have zombie U waiting for me too, damn i hate buying things this way, i mean without telling my wife in secrecy.

   how long is this competition running? i can only play this for a few minutes. my gamepad is in severe danger. i even picked up a hammer once and gave it the evil eye. it's scary. still doing bad - but getting better. maybe the next game will show ma true sk1llz.

    I think till F Zero comes out? Doesn't matter, it's only you and me involved! :/ OG is nowhere to be seen! :)

    I guess the next one for F Zero should be a classic lap time? Can't remember the levels but maybe big blue? I think it was called that, track was awesome! :)

    I think it's punch out after that!

    Also, my score for Balloon trip:

    I did it after coming back from the pub! Had far too much wine and managed that score?! Now I can't even get close! It's crazy frustrating!

    My skills have left me, I too cannot get past 40 now?! It seems to have got more difficult?!

    Anyway, Donkeykong is where the fun will really start.

    If you haven't watched 'King of Kong' to prepare, it's a must! :)

    hey mg thanks for the hint again: "Chihiros Reise ins Zauberland" (the german title; the Miyazaki movie)...arrived today with my copy of ni no kuni! will watch it with my gf this weekend. looking forward to it.
