I just came across this on twitter. Seems to be a subtle jab at one Cliff Bleszinski:

Hahaha!
Talk about falling on your sword.

It's good to know that the new owners of the Saints Row franchise share the same sense of humor.
I think I recall smacking people around with a dildo in San Andreas. Am I remembering incorrectly?
And if you are embarrassed over beating someone to death in a game using a giant dildo with a handle, just use a different weapon. There are plenty in SR3. A grown man should not feel embarrassed if his lady sees him doing it either. If she takes offense she has no sense of humor IMO.
There are plenty of "serious" games on the market.
BTW: I can't recall laughing so much when playing game as I did when I played SR3. I had a blast with it. If that makes me immature, then, well, I guess I am immature.
Just my two cent.
Spot on Steph. I think that's a good attitude to have towards any medium.
In stark contrast, I came across the review of SR3 on Edge:

Seriously depressing reading.
I know I can blab a pretty good game about "high journalism" and whatever, but I always felt like criticism (in any public form) carried a responsibility to stick to the subject, and get to the point.
There are plenty of things you can pick at in Saints Row 3. The game feels very jumbled together, and it's like they're more concerned with fitting in setpieces, than actually putting together a story, for example. But when I read a review I'm not looking for some preachy intellectual to tell me whether it's a game for "good" people, or "bad" people.
Personally I've reviewed albums recorded by convicted murderers, and that may amount to a sentence in the review just for flavor - if it's really relevant - but going off on a campaign against the evils of the world, when you should be reviewing a videogame is evangelism, not criticism.
Sadly it does happen in music too:
I bought Saints Row 3 on OnLive (I know... yeah whatever :D )
One of the cool things about that system is that people can watch you play whilst you are playing.
On an average game, whilst doing the craziest of things (and they get insane in that game) I had max three people watching. Bleh.
One night I was playing and I found the purple dildo, and decided to go apeshit and batter a load of strippers' punters. After two whole minutes I was being watched by 23 people, the most spectactors I have ever had for any game on that system.
