so i had an evening of re-learning how to play computer games last night, what with the Heavy rain demo and i purchased Flower
i had to take all the gaming preconceptions i had learned over the past 20years and throw them out the window, quite enjoyable whooshing around, i kind've expected more from it but at least i know i'll have a game to play if i ever get alzheimer's
one thing i didn't like about it was how the camera likes to fly off and show you 'things happening', a hugely immersive game, ruined by cut aways every 30 seconds, it's the kind of game that demands control at all times, shame.
playing the game was very cerebral, i found, instead of concentrating on the game my mind was off wondering (mostly on how i would improve the game), probably quite good to play if you're a creative in need of inspiration
this would be perfect for natal, flying around a field just by moving your body would be very spiritual :P as it made me remember a more innocent time playing it, when i used to unknowingly lift the joypad to help mario jump the turtle.
i can imagine this being remade in the future with photo realistic visuals in 3d, flying without a control in hand....i should make it...how hard could it be
