I don't know if it's the same person as the last infamous TEA I always hear about.
I'm pretty sure I've seen nothing but standard comments from whoever is using the name at the moment...

He always starts off meaning well, but he just can't resist his more childish impulses.
He's not really a troll as he doesn't set out to deliberately wind people up (over and over and OVER again). He's just a bit of a twat.
Shame Blerk and PT aren't around, I miss them.

Am I the only one who doesn't feel like TEA should be banned? I haven't seen any particular behavior from that user.
I could think of other users deserving the ban-hammer though!

I'm currently with Cyber on this one. I haven't seen anything and I wasn't really around/bothered about the comments section when it all kicked off before.
So I can only say I think it would be unfair to do so unless there is a real reason.

He was originally only banned for three months, for posting racist remarks and intentionally antagonising users. He choose to stay away, far as I know.
As long as he doesn't break the rules, there really isn't any reason to ban him.
If you don't like what another user's opinion, the simplest thing you can do is ignore it. If you start responding to someone with name calling, attacks on their character, and other such juvenile behaviour, you kinda end up being part of the problem, not the solution.

I don't see why he should. The VG crew know what they're doing and I don't think it's a readers place to start witch hunts for certain commenters. They'll give bans for those who deserve them.
That's my two pence on it.

Not a witch hunt, it's just there was a really horrid patch when TEA and BDH were ruining the comments on more or less every post and it's been so much nicer without them.
I just don't want to see things return to that sorry state, when it was always a mud-slinging match and not about reasoned discourse. But hey, if it does, I can always follow PT and Blerk's example and go elsewhere.

I think the VG crew are a lot more on top of that sort of thing though. Apart from the occasional argument that stretches multiple forum pages, I haven't seen anything on here recently that I would consider that bad.
Obviously if things turn nasty, and the guys don't ban as they should, it's a problem.

There were many forum threads created by past and present members of this community calling for TEAs permanent banning.
You don't get solidarity from a community against a person for no good reason.
He'll escalate and he will get himself banned again. It's in his nature.
In the process he will poison thread after thread. Like Gheritt I don't want to go through that again.

oh boy am i disagreeing with that guy.....but there was nothing yet that would justify banning.
in Da Man´s case....hell no...he´s vg247 inventory. it´s all good.

If his presence bothers you that immensely, contact Pat directly about it. He does listen if there's enough valid criticism by a vocal majority of the community, but neither will he take action based solely on individual opinion.

@ GHz: I've zero problems giving TEA the benefit of the doubt and I really don't hold a grudge - I mean, I don't even know the guy as a human being, just as a random handle on the web. It's just we've been here with him twice before. Hopefully there won't be a repeat of the last couple of times, s'all I'm saying.
Tbh, this is a busy period for me at work anyway, so perhaps I should be welcoming an incentive to lurk rather than post.

I actually kind of missed TEA, though I wasn't aware of racist or horrible comments in the past. I also wasn't ware that he was actually banned, I just thought he left.
He is very passionate about Sony, and I disagreed with many of his posts and comments, but I enjoyed the back and forth banter at times.
Personal attacks though are inexcusable, I must have missed those or forgotten.So far his passion has come though, but I haven't seen anything worth banning.
Call me crazy, but in some ways, his enthusiasm for Sony is interesting as bashing Sony has become the norm, though I feel its mostly justified.
Sony learned some harsh lessons, we shall see if they learned from it. MS has become cocky in my opinion, though nowhere near the vitrolic level of Sony at the beginning of the PS3.Posted 4 months ago # -

I totally agree that Da Man never actually adds anything to any conversation except insults and general shit throwing. I've learned to just ignore whatever he posts, but it's hard not to see how many posts just become arguments when people take his bait.
As for TEA, don't know, so can't judge.
