"Scraped"?
Yep next film is a reboot that takes him back to his teen years
...and in 3D
It hasn't been scrapped, really.
Just Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are no longer involved.
They're still planning SM4 for 2012.
Its no longer SM 4 dude its a compleate reboot like Batman Begins was to Batman
who wants to watch a spiderman movie without Bruce Campbell
"send the series back to high school" angle: It allows them to morph the franchise into "Twilight" i.e. 'superpowers-as-teen-angst-melodrama.'
how can they possibly match the highschool scenes in spiderman 1
Jesus christ ive just read that aritcle and they better not do that. Team Edie and Team Peter

Why the fuck would I want a reboot of a movie franchise that was only new 5 minutes ago?
isn't there a xmen reboot as well....or did i dream that
xmen is going back to the college years too
So its pretty much going to be the Xmen: Evolution cartoon in movie form.
I think they are going this direction because of the Disney buyout. If it doesn't butcher the Marvel character as FOX did I am all for it. Fox practically raped the Xmen especially with their last Wolverine movie.
Well atleast it seems that First Class isnt a reboot but just a prequel. I'm pretty sure theres meant to be an Origins: Magneto and some other Origins movie (Storm i think?) to, restarting everything when those movies are cannon to the already released ones would be abit dumb imo.

Oh lord... this idea was bouncing around long before Disney acquired the Marvel, and the X-Men movie license is *still* in Fox's hand.
This is not some "kiddifying" of the X-Men to appeal to a "Disney" audience. I love how everything Marvel does now is assumed to be a "Disney" move, despite the fact that Disney have made it clear that Marvel would still maintain full creative control of their characters.
And in case you don't remember, the X-Men did actually start off as teenagers. It was just five of them (Scott, Jean, Hank, Warren and Bobby), and Professor Xavier. So if anything, this idea would be *authentic* to the franchise.
Michael
DId I ever state Disney kiddifying the Xmen? No I said that possibilities can be endless without FOX borking it up like they did with WOlverine Origins. Disney is aiming for a more mature audience look at Pirates and National Treasure. You really just like to make arguments about anything and everything.
"No I said that possibilities can be endless without FOX borking it up like they did with WOlverine Origins"
FOX still own the license, so FOX would be the one doing this movie.

Pirates of the Caribbean is brilliant, but it's certainly not a "mature" movie. And National Treasure most certainly isn't. They are both suitable for a very general audience, and were deliberately made to be such.
I said more mature not Mature audiences. Movies like Pirates and National are aimed for the general audience and not the kid movies like Princess and the Toad or ALice in WOnderland (the original not the TIm Burton ver) were more for children.
Wow, its looking really amazing. And it would be entertaining. I liked it and want to see...........
Damn dude, you just nechroed a thread that was older than time x)
Its looking interesting too much. I am so excited to watch this amazing movie. I have seen its all parts and that was fabulous. So when its going to come in cinemas. I like this amazing character. Its really too much entertaining and interesting to watch this movies.
