Following on from Manu's lead on the comment threads, I wanted to wish all of our readers a happy holidays and ace start to the new year in advance, as I'm not sure when Pat will call the year officially over. Could be Monday, could be later.

So yeah, It's been an amazing time here since I started in July, you're an ace community, very welcoming, and I'm thankful that you offer good chat and insight on my pieces - I do read it all, and it's all useful.

Also, sorry for being so opinionated in the comments at times - I should make it my resolution to stop that. I've always been a highly-strung individual, and I think part of it comes from being Scottish, I think ;)

But yeah, thanks again, cheers for your feedback, and let's make 2013 the site's best yet. It's going to be a killer.

Man, with next-gen reveals coupled with this gen going out with a big bang, add to that the precarious fates of hardwares released this year, NEXT YEAR WILL BE AWESOME! (maybe)

@Dragon246 yep, next year excites/terrifies me in equal measure. The workload is going to be insane, but I love a challenge so yeah, bring it on I say :D

Dave, I have enjoyed reading your stuff alot. As for your opinions...like Mike says, that is one of the best things about reading your threads/articles. I don't have to agree with your opinion to respect you or enjoy reading it.

On that note, happy holidays Dave. And same to everyone else.

I would aslo like to welcome back the Tea Gang, looking forward to reading Friendly discussions in the days to come.

I've not commented as much this year as I was staying with my GF for a while (now my ex but I should really put that in the "Girls" thread lol) but I spectated a lot and the way you get involved with the readers Dave is absolutely fantastic, and you're a fellow Scot lol. I think I speak for a lot of people here when I say that for me this is the ONLY site I go to where the comments are just as important as the articles.

So merry xmas and happy new year people. Next years gona have some amazing releases. This is truly an amazing time to have gaming as a hobby.

Thanks Dave, you've had a great start to your hopefully long stay with VG247.

Nice to see you bobbing and weaving in the comments section after your articles are put into our hands! :)

Mark of a confident and passionate writer IMO.

This site is the only site I bother with for news and now some of you're opinion pieces. What a great vibrant and open community, it's great.

Lots of different opinions from a lot of different people in a lot of different places! :)

That really helps the site to become a great place to discuss gaming tech and lots of other wild topics!

Well, merry Christmas to all, staff and posters alike.

I'm certainly set up for a nice gaming Xmas (although not much time off :(, well not like Manu anyway! ;) )

Wii U, 3DS etc, I hope everyone enjoys some great titles over the period, make sure you pick up some obscure things in the sales if you can! Catherine, Shadows of the Damned etc...! :)

thx dave. i really enjoy your articles and comments a lot. keep being so passionate about games. it's a good thing that you have a strong opinion and represent that. it's very refreshing.
thx vg247 community for fighting and sharing. i feel connected to some of you guys in a strange way;) even if this is just the internet and we mostly all just disagree.
imho vg247 is a great place for videogameenthusiasts, it's something special really. an internet gem. i feel like we all kind of care about this little corner of the net. it's great.

@monkeygourmet hah, that's brilliant :p my mate uses the whole 'I'm Scotch' thing all the time. Phoney!!

@everyone Thanks guys, I am a passionate gamer and along the way I think a lot of people believe that just because I'm a game critic that it makes me less of a game fan, which is complete rubbish of course. So yeah, I get kind of fired up when talking about games or when writing an opinion piece. It's just something I believe in strongly :)
