   OH MY DAAAAAAAYS!!!!!!!!!

   I just had all my stats reset in BO2!

   75 hours, 3 and a half prestiges, diamond camo on all SMGs, and a whole bunch of custom emblems...

   GONE!

   To a stupid bug! A BUG!

   To a ridiculous bug that causes your stats to be reset if you go into local match mode...

   Do you realise how many headshots I had to get to unlock that camo??

   So... instead of laughing your butt off at me, I want you to tell me your worst moment in gaming. One worse than this. (If it's possible.)

   So I can feel better at your expense.

   I think I'm going back to MW3.

   I was about to start the final mission in the first Infamous when my first PS3 decided to die. This was well before PS+ and Cloud Saves.

   I've never actually gone back to it. I'd cleared each Island on shards as I went through it and had been playing on Hard from the start. Aside from the Evil Cole stuff I would pretty much have had a clean sweep.

   I'm such a sucker for stories that I got to go with the endings of Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Eternal Sonata. I [i]hate[/i] bad endings. I've never been so angry playing a game, but KOTOR2's ending was just terrible - broken and nonsensical, it just ... argh!

   Eternal Sonata's was almost worse, simply because there was nothing to blame it on. Yeah, KOTOR2's sucked, but I can always kind of play what ifs - what if they had had more time, more money, more freedom? It's so clearly not what Obsidian intended. With Eternal Sonata, on the other hand, there are no excuses. I just really, really dislike the "creative vision" behind it. It's the only game where I've just wanted to put the controller down and scream at my TV in frustration. Even KOTOR2 didn't do that to me; there it was stunned silence.

   Damn man, that's bad... but this does at least make me statistically better than you? That's certainly a nice change (even though I doubt it will last long haha!).

   Is there definitely no way for you to get that back? I can't believe there's no way for them to reset that all...

   I don't think I can top that, but I've had several games where I just got stuck as fuck and had to give up 30-40-50 hours in. Sometimes on the last boss.

   But as far as complete BS bugs which made me quit a game & never go back, Parasite Eve may take the cake. After a hard-fought final battle and a win, I proceeded to open the door behind the boss's corpse, the screen went black to load the transition aaaand...nothing, the screen remained black & never finished loading.

   That Nier was Cavia's undoing. Nier was such an original game. It really reminded me of days developers still had the guts to experiment. It was far from perfect but the story, setting and characters made it all worth while. To make matters worse they had more content planned but it got canned due to poor sales.

   Its the only game that made me feel like absolute shit after defeating a certain boss. Not to mention you had to defeat them 4 times to get the true ending.

    @viral: I don't know if there is a way... Some people are getting ranks back, but not completely. The only way to do it so far is to PM one of the Treyarch devs through their website, who can get your rank back, but it takes a few of days, apparently.

    I've sent him a very polite PM, so all I'm doing now is waiting and playing MW3, instead.

    GIGA i feel your pain, not that i have experience something remotly close to that experience, but i dont really want to imagine all the time and effort needed to get the gold for every SMG in the game,really i feel bad, and now more than ever, you cannot show me off your diamon bling bling weapons, if we ever come close to get into a public match ;_;

    Tapping my SNES reset button after the end of a mammoth play session on Final Fantasy 3, only to realise I'd neglected to save..

    I remember in FFX you had to dodge something like 100 lightning bolts in a row in the lightning plains to unlock one of the pieces for one of the characters Ultimate Weapon.

    That drove me nuts. I ended up sitting in a completely darkened room, like every crack of light around the window and door was sealed so that the only source of light was the TV so that the brief flicker on the screen before the lightning strike was easier to see.

    I don't know how many times I failed that shit, more than I want to remember.

    My sadest moment is when I read the news that Sega was pulling out of Hardware. They would then stop making Dreamcast(one of my all time fav systems) and Dreamcast games.

    @DrDamn Heh, perhaps, & I suppose those instances don't really count since it was my decision to quit out of laziness, loss of interest, or frustration.

    But sometimes you get screwed by a poorly timed save, or characters that are too weak and can't be leveled at that time, you know? If I think there's a fair chance, I'll keep trying till I get it, but if I feel it's a really cheap kind of stuck, I'll say to hell with it.

    8 Phony fanboys all ragequitting at once from a thread when I was winning 49-5. I was outBRing them all the time.

    One of them was the host. It led to a game with ruined stats, and I wasn't able to get the unphonybelievable medal.

    . Although, the worst moment was probably my Mega Drive failing to save the game to a built-in cartridge memory. I was playing some rpg with an autosave.

    I failed at bolt #98. I threw my controller so hard against the wall it broke in 3 pieces.
    And when i did finally manged to pull it off, it turned out later i missed a missable blue magic skill for khimari.

    i never touched FFX again...

    Don't know if I'd call it my worst gaming moment, but certainly my most dissapointing was my first PSN experience.

    I bought the PS3 for 2 games: Demons Souls and PAIN. PAIN turned out to be exactly the right name. To download it and install, then download and install the 7 massive patches took well over 3 hours. This was after spending an hour or so patching the OS of the new machine.

    I used up my yearly quota of sighs and dispairing head shakes that day, and pretty much set the tone for the whole of my PS3 ownership.

    I cant remember even a single incident of save related problems. Guess I was extra careful with saves always. Now with automatic updates of save files to cloud, save file troubles should be a thing of the past.
    There was something I needed to ask to more knowledgeable folks out here. A console attach rate has always increased in its lifespan. Is this valid for all consoles or are there some exceptions. I was looking at some stats so I needed to know.

    But that game has only been out a month G1GA you easily sink 300,000 man hours into each installment of COD. Getting another 1000 head shots ain't nothing for you.

    This was years ago... Playing Zelda OOT for the first time, was at the water temple and my tv died on me. It was summer and it was roasting outside but all I wanted to do was play Zelda. Still brings a tear to my eye lol.

    Wow, that is really horrible. Sorry to hear this.

    The closest I've gotten to this (Soul crushing loss of time and progress) was during Dark Souls. Had amassed millions of souls and a serious amount of humanity after 2 weeks of careful and full play. Two short meetings with Ceaseless Discharge and it was gone.

    Halo 3. That story sucked balls hard. Oh you like Johnson? Yeah he's dead now, killed by a Christmas tree decoration. You liked Miranda Keyes? Yeah that silly bitch is gone too.

    We'll make it up to you by throwing in a section where for every 5 steps you take, cortana pops up, spouting bollocks for 10 mins & a story that doesn't make sense...

    Oh & don't choke on those tears of nostalgia as you race your warthog to the ship at the end!!

    ^ you just spoiled halo 3 for me...I still haven't beaten it yet. Thanks a lot orbit! I guess this is my worst gaming moment now :)

    But no seriously someone flipped the power switch on me while I was at the end of Beyond Good and Evil....only thing is my data was in the middle of saving and got corrupt :( Never touched the game again not even the HD collection in the PS Store.

    ....I hate(other people's)kids!

    Spent hours upon hours leveling up in MW2. Got legit prestige 10 Max level only to get all my stats erased by an asshole child hacker that wiped everyone's stats in the match.
