You can either laugh or cry.
I guess what tips the scales towards laugh for me is the fact that they did it to themselves. They could've stayed the awesome boutique publisher they always were, if they had opted for it.
They didn't though. Brian Farrell is as greedy as he is clueless, and there just wasn't tolerance for that kind of stupidity in a company that small.
There isn't tolerance for that kind of stupidity in EA or Activision either, but they're robust enough to handle a few more years with their own old timer CEOs, whose main contribution is dropping buzzwords, while the market drops their stock.
Sadly I think appointing Jason Rubin is the smartest thing THQ ever did, and they did it about five years later than they should have. A man in the big chair, who actually knows what he's selling, and who he's selling it to.
I fear the wisdom of that will be lost to the ages, along with the good ship THQ.
