Hey guys,
I should get a new 250GB 360 soon-ish
and I want to know the good games that I should get with it, I will obviously be getting the Gears and Halos etc..
You can also recommend ones that are out on both consoles but run better on the 360.
cheers

Pretty much any cross-console game runs better on Xbox.
I'd recommend getting Red Dead Redemption, Battlefield: Bad Company, Mirror's Edge and/or Forza (4 or Horizon, your choice).

I agree with Giskard, pretty much everything runs better on XB360. From there, just roll with what types of gaming you enjoy. Also keep in mind that were you live can directly impact the quality of your Online experience(true for any consoles), but because so much of the XB360 is online driven, that could impact your fun factor.
Enjoy your new system friend. And welcome to the site, I haven't seen you post before, sorry if I have missed it.

Both above comments are grossly ignorant made by people who hardly play on ps3. Platform parity is commonplace for 2-3 years now. Some games offer better ps3 version, some 360. If you are buying a AAA game, I suggest looking out for DF article (on eurogamer) first before selecting a version.

I have both consoles and most of the games I played on the PS3 got sold or traded in for the 360 version. Better online functions, easier party options, better menus. I don't buy anything for my PS3 that will also be on the PS3.
I agree with OG and Giskard. I would also say the Mass Effect series as that's a personal favourite for me. BLOPS2 is proving to a great game, best CoD I have played. Lost Odyssey is a good RPG, a little old now so you might be able to get it cheap.

Hi Sherif,
You’ll find the vast majority of multiplatform games run noticeably better on the 360.
I’d recommend buying up some cheap Live points as some of the best gaming this gen has been on the XBLA marketplace. Stuff live Trials Evolution, Shadow Complex and Minecraft (if you don’t have the PC version) seriously challenge AAA retail quality, and then there are tonnes of indie hits like Limbo, Braid, Bastion, etc...

I will join the XBLA titles recomendation from gadzooks, and i will like to add torchlight, dust elysean tale, gotham city impostors (best multiplayer FPS this gen hands down).
As for multiplatform bayonetta, FEAR, red dead redemption, GTA 4, are better on the 360, butdont get darksiders 1 & 2, L.A noire, they are better on the ps3, for the rest i think they are pretty close right now.

Third the recommendation for XBLA titles. That's where a lot of the great stuff is and you can try any of the titles first as they all have trial editions.

What's the problem with RDR on PS3? I have the GOTY edition on it and think it looks better on mine PS3 than in my friend Xbox... the online really don't work on my version, but I assume this is because of my horrible connection, it's the same that happens in Assassin's Creed Revelations
If you like JRPGs I would recommend you Final Fantasy XIII / XIII-2 seen it on xbox and it looks better. But you should look some videos first, it's love it or hate it, maybe download the demo of XIII-2 to get a feeling of the combat system. If you like western RPGs look for Mass Effect 2, the best in the series. If you like fighting games, you should def go for Tekken Tag Tournment 2 there's a lot of content to keep you in it for at least 6 months. For FPS: if you like fast paced kill or be killed go for some CoD, MW1 and Black Ops is great for it's campaign, for multiplayer I think Black Ops 2 is the one. But if you like more tactical approach to war, then Battlefield 3 is awesome, the campaign is short and very scripted, but the multiplayer is the selling point.

Hello.
Indeed, as mentioned by many most of the multiplatform games run better, slightly so or the same on 360 hence it's naturally the platform to choose for non exclusive titles.
I would agree with OlderGamer in regards to Xbla.
To name a few Xbla ones: Omega Five(side scrolling shooter a la Strider), After Burner Climax, Small Arms (SSB like brawler), both of the Assault Heroes (Jackal like vertical shooter with various vehicles), Space Giraffe (Tempest like game), Fusion Genesis, both of the Geometry Wars are essential, Fez, Warp, Insanely Twisted SP (think Ecco the Dolphin), Deadlight, Pac-Man CE DX. There're many more, Xbla is amazing.
I would recommend Halo Odst campaign (probably just as good as CE), Bayonetta as the best action game this gen and probably ever made (this one runs a lot better on 360 and at double the framerate) as well as Just Cause 2 (unparalleled sandbox game), and Project Gotham Racing games.

WOW
Thanks for the overwhelming responses!I actually was posting a lot back in the days of TEA vs GIGA and O'connor etc when the site started, was posting under ShiroGamer
but for some reason the site changed my name when I started writing for VG (done like 2-3 news stories, thanks to superPat)Regarding the XBL issue, OG, its not much of an issue, I can get decent ping for EU servers/EU hosted games through p2p and I also don't think I will play online much tbh.
I have played most of the games that you guys recommended on PC already(a major PC gamer derp), and played RDR on the PS3 already also :)
I think I will get the Halo series, Gears series, Bayonetta and XBLA games that I wanted to play since forever(Fez, Shadow Complex, Trials evo etc..)
Feel free to add any other games or ideas to the thread, I will post my gamertag here when I get the damn thing.

Those same results are commonplace amongst almost all cross platform games.

Alright, lads
I got the thing yesterday with Kinect (not like I had any choice)
Gamer tag : MrShiroGamer.

Sherif,
I would strongly advocate trying Wrecketeer. It's one of the few worthwhile Kinect games with a surprising amount of depth and strategy and a nice fluid and intuitive control scheme.

I will recomend also the gunstringer, i did like it a lot too, one of the best kinect titles.

I haven't even bothered unsealing the Kinect :D
but I might do once I play the more hardcore games.Posted 6 months ago # -
There's a 50% off sale on the first 4 Assassin's Creed games on XBL Games on Demand right now. I downloaded AC Brotherhood for $10 today. I highly recommend AC 2 and Brotherhood.
Also recommend: Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, Borderlands, Mass Effect trilogy, Bioshock, the 2 Batman Arkham games, and Far Cry 3. If you don't mind older-looking tech, Oblivion and Fallout 3 are also stellar games. Then there's GTA 4 too.

Bayonetta
Shadow Complex
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Ace Combat 6
Snoopy Flying Ace
Lost Odyssey (if you like JRPG)
Infinite Undiscovery (ditto)Posted 6 months ago # -
About the only rpg I'd play is Star Ocean 4, which is still largely a chore.
And highly recommend refraining from playing Halo Reach multiplayer over H3, the latter is superior in every single regard, even with all the alt accounts. Campaign is ok.

And some free XBLA games:
Crash Course
Harm's Way
Happy Wars
