I seriously doubt that they'll have anything to do with Halo, unless Microsoft decides to do another spinoff game à la Halo Wars. I can't imagine Microsoft shifting development duties away from 343 Industries.
They did say "we’re looking to build the next Halo" in the Vancouver Sun interview, but I think that's just a poorly worded way of saying "we’re looking to build the next big-as-Halo game."
That said: I'm psyched! I really want to see what they can do on the next generation of hardware and I'm kind of perplexed by the fact that they weren't formed in time to contribute to the 360's catalogue. I've missed some good Microsoft exclusives for quite some time and this might be just what they need (assuming it's good).
