okeydokey...it was obvious, why have i even bothered anyway? i gave in....right now downloading the patch. this far the set up was a breeze. really impressed already. it´s a damn fingerprint magnet indeed though. love the tv remote thing. clicked samsung on the pad and it instantly worked like a charme!
i played cod blops 2 ffa tonight and thought to myself: well this is pretty damn boring. i wanna go to nintendoland!
so, installing the patch now, will create a mii, girlfriend will as well and then we will go to nintendoland!!! excited now!

i haven´t created my account yet, but will very soon!...update is 70% or so now, probably the same with monkey, he posted yesterday that he will pick his wiiu up this afternoon after work, it´s about the same time in uk as here....so he´s probably downloading the patch too atm.

yepper, makes sense. Best not to rush the update. Make sure you transfer your Wii/VC content too. That part is much easier and faster(depending on how much you have to transfer).

I had an unannounced inspection just before I left work to pick up the Wii U!!! :( Killer!
Anyway, just downloading the patch now! The pad is crazy nice! Just feels so natural, my eyes are ready for 2 screens! :)

I had 3 and a half hours of crap setting up before I got going. Doesn't like VM Super Hubs (*), update failed to start about 10-15 times then stopped once going too. So first night I went to bed 2 am having played for 10 mins on Nintendo Land. (Day one patches for both Nintendo Land and Mario - nice).
From then it's all been gravy though. Really like using the machine. Mario and Nintendo Land are both really nice titles. Played ZombiU last night and that's really nice too - one to pick up in a sale. Love it now :)
(*) for VM Super Hub it doesn't like auto setup so had to define static IP, subnet mask, gateway and Google DNS manually.

Hi folks, added some of u already. Our name is Mavera. We also got the Zombie U pack and i have to say that it incredibly looks awesome. A little bit different like on PS360, but the game is sharp and it runs smooth. Very curious how games will look in 1 or 2 years. We visited some stores today and were very disappointed about the launch titles. It my be awesome for Wii to Wii U switcher, but not for PS360 owners. But we will wait for a Mario price drop and a Pikmin and Rayman release.

i am really loving my wiiu! i was an idiot because i was thinking about returning it and then getting it later. would´ve missed out on all that launch excitement. really don´t know where all that negative press feedback is coming from. i truly do wonder about that. sure it´s not perfect but just plain awesome nintendo fun.
nintendoland is great, liking it much more than wii sports personally. miiverse will be copied full force by msony and for a good reason, it´s ace. i have also bought nano assault (geometry stardust clone - but really good one!) and trine 2, both superb and looking just as good on the tablet as the games i played on the vita.
i just played almost 3 hours of nsmb u with my girlfriend. she really isn´t into gaming at all, but open minded enough to give it a try from time to time - she is able to enjoy some games. outcome: she loved it. totally. like crazy. i was the one who wanted to stop playing. i had to force her. imho nintendo nailed it with this nsmb game, it´s a blast to play coop. using the tablet is challenging and rewarding for a player with less experience. the gamedesign/artwork in general isn´t reinventing the wheel (but it´s mario in HD!) but the tablet really does. it´s a rock solid 2d mario game. difficulty is perfect for fun playthroughs while still challenging. great launch title.
i cannot wait for the second and third genreation of nintendo games for the wii u now. mario kart will be coop superfun 1v1 and no split screen!
girlfirend was so pumped about her tablet skills that she now wants me to get zombiu as soon as possible because i told her about the coop there....a zombie game, if you´d know her you´d know how weird that is.
cool. really happy with that thing indeed.
i don´t care about the haters, i will continue having fun with my wii u and i am even more sure now that it will become a solid nintendo console with very good sales and very good games.Posted 5 months ago # -
