Yesterday i was in a shopping mall, and i was really surprise/impress to see the WiiU already avaliable in a store, just ten days after it was release, thats a record here in my country, the other surprise was, and it was not as pleasent, the price 9.800 BSF, which is more or less 2.200 $, man i was crushed by this, now i will have a hard time to convince myself to get it, i know later on it will cost more, because of the currency issue, but now it is two problems, getting one, and i dont want to know how much the PS4 and 720 will going to cost, i just hope they release it on separate years in order to save the money, but probably it will get my divorce, oh boy this sucks.

Deacon if that was that easy, i have done it a long time ago ;_;

Thats the problem in my country too. Sony and MS consoles are priced (relatively) cheaply than ninty ones. I was able to buy vita day one for 400$ (thats reasonable here) and a ps3 last year for 350$, 360 sells for 350$ too. But wii stills sells at 350$ (wtf?) and 3ds sells at a price higher than vita. I hope ninty can do something about smaller markets.
Not to mention how ps3 and 360 games (especially ps3 and vita) are reasonably priced here, whereas wii games start at 60$ and 3ds ones start from 70$, whereas AAA vita releases costs 30-40$.
@Deacon
I got pretty burned last time I shared my psn id. Can you e-mail me yours at psxboxwii123@gmail.com (good id, don't you think so)? I will send you a friend request via vita then.Posted 5 months ago # -
Damn fellas, no wonder you guys game on Playstations. That explains a lot really, esp with Dragon.
Manu, I wouldn't touch a WiiU for that price. I wouldn't buy a PS4 or a XBNXT either. If game consoles were that expensive where I lived I think I would strongly look into a PC. Are those bad too?
I have always said and felt that price above all else is the key factor in gaming. If you can't afford the price, you can't play the game. Brand name and platform become irrelevent at that point. If all I could afford was an older system like SNES, Dreamcast, or PS2, I would still game. But I wouldn't touch a new system at the kind of prices you guys have to put up with.
Manu is there anyway you can get a friend to buy/ship you systems? I used to Ebay, still have my account, would be happy to set something up(at cost, no profit to me) and create a pvt auction for you. Let me know. I have shipped internationaly often.

That's terrifyingly expensive!
Can you not take a holiday to the US for example and pick one up or get someone else to send you one from abroad? Job done. :)

OG thanks for your concern, i really appreciated <3 , a computer here costs roughly the same, and more often than not a bit more, of course a capable one, but man i dont like gaming on PC, i prefer the console controllers, and regarding you sending me one, it would be troublesome, because right now i dont have any dollars left to pay you, the government here only gives 400$ per year and i have already spend all the money, maybe next years i will advise you ok, and really thanks for your concern man, it means a lot.

Anytime Manu, I would happy to help you out if I can.

@Manu: i just received mine today and i am RIGHT NOW thinking about returning it and buying one later or not. it sits unopened right here, left to me, staring at me...tempting. it was 349 euros...so nothing compared to the price you dropped here. pheew. i definiteley wouldn´t buy it for that price. tough manu, really tough decission.
i said it before, i could as well buy one here and ship it to you and camouflage it as a grannies care package with stupid christmas stickers all over it and make it smell like cookies. just tell me. we can do paypal so it wouldn´t be a risk for you. you can always trust a metalhead. was an old saying in the 90´s german hardcore scene ;)Posted 5 months ago # -
No options to import it? Over amazon.com or something?
Posted 5 months ago # -
I know that saying poly :), thanks for your concern too <3, right now i dont have any dollars left in order to pay you, lets wait to next year ok, altough i think i need to have Euros to do a deal with you and the government hold a more tighter security upon those 8S.
Krazykrait like i said to OG we only have 400$ per yer for doing internet transacations, they have here in place a control de cambio, is some sort of control over the currency, is not open like in any other country, the government only gives some sort of amount for a transaction, and those transactions requiere a heavy count of papers, i need to wait for next year.

I would keep it Poly. I love mine. Just do NOT buy Epic Mickey 2, the game is broken. Was awesome for a few hours, then it went to hell fast. It felt like the devs ran out of time.
Just don't expect more then can be delivered. Sometimes we(you) get over hyped on something(Halo4) and the product(while good) never feels right to you. But if your having reservations, might be best to go with it and ebay the system. They are running(in NA) about 50usd - 100usd over retail on ebay. But...I am finding more and more stores with them on their shelves. Don't sit on it too long, decide what ya wanna do and go with it.
The system is so damn cool, imo, I would want one even if it didn't have any games to play. No lie. I use the Gamepad to watch Netflix at night, earbuds in, and TV off. Doesn't bother the wife while she sleeps. The MiiVerse is awesome. And some of the games are amazing too, some are sloppy ports(suprise). I am not too sure if WiiU can replace my XB360. It won't replace my PC. And I have no idea what happens in two years when MS/Sony bring out new hardware. All I can tell you is that right now, today, I love the damn thing.
But that doesn't matter. Do what you are comfortable doing. I don't want you pissed at me because I talked you into anything. But isn't it calling you, lol? I couldn't stand having a new system in the house and not ripping it open and trying it.
I am too much a little kid and a gamer. Good luck man.

An old song from my day Manu, it goes like this: "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with".
In other words, forget about it. Enjoy the great games you have already. WiiU is a very neat system, I love the gamepad. But it doesn't revolutionize gaming to a point where you can't enjoy the other games on the market. I would wait for the price to drop and the libary to increase.

"Just don't expect more then can be delivered. Sometimes we(you) get over hyped on something(Halo4) and the product(while good) never feels right to you."
me....? not at ALL!! (lying, this is totally true and i must take good care that this is not happening again with bungies destiny, i have to cool myself down. sometimes my expectations are huge, maybe that´s because there was a time once when i felt that some games more than delivered for me, blew me away...that time seems to be over most of the time now unfortunateley)
"I don't want you pissed at me because I talked you into anything. But isn't it calling you, lol? I couldn't stand having a new system in the house and not ripping it open and trying it."
wont be pissed, promise, i appreciate the advice, honestly do. i also received a copy of blops 2 today...will play that online a bit tonite and sleep over the wiiu decission...probably i will rip it open in an hour or so anyway, if it stays here for the weekend it will be opened for sure. my girlfriend slows me down a bit though, saying i should wait for a price drop...she can be a damn penny saver sometimes...

Poly..I know you didnt saw me a lot on XBL, but gimme your Mii Code or whatever Wii U is using, so I can add you tomorrow or on saturday.
@Manu
Be brave and hold on, and try to buy one next year. That is too much they want in Venezuela.Posted 5 months ago # -
The thing here guys is prices always go up, for instance the first batch of 3DS here did cost 418$, right now one year later is about 883 $, it did double the price, this also happened to vita as well it did cost 651 $ when it was released here, right now is 1069$ i bought mine a few months ago and thank God it did had the old price tag, but this is how it goes, this happens to all the consoles, because the currency conversion here increases and incredable accelerated rate, therefore i know that in a year it will costs more, i am now sweeting like a pig, becuase i am thinking on geting it tomorrow, of course without my wife knowing it ;_;
"If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with".
I laughed so hard OG , but you know like a said before this is an invesment later on it will cost more, i will force myself, and i hope PS4 and 360 will came in different years, in order to save money to be able to afford both.

@KrazyKraut...will give you the Miithingy IF i choose to keep it...i am struggling but i really feel like atm i really do have more than enough stuff to play, don´t really feel the need for a new console right now so maybe i really will return it...and then get one in spring or after the first price drop/ gamebundle deals, because it´s not like it is for Manu, here it will only become cheaper the longer you wait...

@Manu Ah, I know the thrill of stealthy console purchases well; tread carefully in that minefield.
How about this one--take your wife to Miami & have a good time, but ALSO bring a giant suitcase & fill it up with Wii U's, then sell them for $1000 a pop when you get back to Venezuela. Trip & Wii U paid for. Everyone's happy(?)

@Manu
Despite what others say, I would like to discourage you from shopping abroad unless you are playing by the rules and following customs procedure. Believe me, it gets really messy with customs. Here, customs will gladly tear open a package that doesn't have a bill on it.
Or maybe look at grey market for cheaper rates, although they are generally higher priced.Better yet, just checked playasia.com. They ship to venezuela. And including shipping, it will cost you less than 700$ (around 630$). A good deal considering the prices in your country. But I suggest you contact playasia first about if customs is included or not. Most likely they are.
If you buying through playasia, wait for one month or so for them to get us version since wiiu is region locked. Be sure to ask them all the details you need to know via e-mail to avoid complications in the future.
Hope it helps you.Posted 5 months ago # -
Thanks Dragon for your concern too, to all the guys this post here <3.
