Game in the UK now have WiiU demo units, played one today. WTF were Nintendo thinking? Demo menu of 8 or so games and of those just Rayman is playable, and that is the last in the list and not even a launch title. The rest were just video. When the whole point of it is the controller and how people need to use it to understand it these units are just terrible. It didn't put me off my preorder as I'm reasonably well informed from other sources, this isn't going to convince anyone who'd never seen one though.
The controller was pleasantly nice to hold and the screen a good resolution for the size. Bit unresponsive to swipes initially but that was more me used to capacitive screens I think, plus it had a screen protector applied. Rayman did look very nice though, and as some of the reviews of MarioU have pointed out, it puts Mario to shame graphically. Shows the sort of lush environments they could have created instead of a HD NSMB. Playing through Origins on the Vita and really enjoying it - I'll look forward to Legends in the new year.
