Not too fussed on the title. Go with whatever you want.
Pat would totally go with the one with the curse word. Hahaha.

Final draft (this will be what I will post on voting page)-
Heading- VG247 "Fucking Amazing Games" Community Awards Voting Page
"Hey everyone,
This page is made so that we, VG247 community can have our own awards for the best games of the year. So I hope you can participate as your votes will decide the winner.
Now time for some stupid rules (No one likes them, but please read them)-
1.3 games will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively. 2.Therefore please select 3 games which according to you are the best this year. Mention them in order of 1st,2nd and 3rd. 1st place nominees will receive three points, 2nd place 2 points and 3rd place 1 point respectively.
3.GOTY editions and straight up collections (like ME collection)are not allowed, remakes (like Okami HD) and "enhanced versions" (like AC Armored Edition) are allowed.
4.Users are requested to provide reasons for their nominees,it may help them getting more users to support their nominees, but its NOT MANDATORY. 3 best quotes will be announced at the time of results.
5.Winners will be decided based on final points tally, sometime in January 2013. Voting will close on 1st December 2012, 00:00 GMT.
6.Only ONE post per user is allowed.
Enjoy!!!"
I will copy-paste this post on the forum post that will be started for voting. If anything is amiss, please report it asap. I will post the voting page tomorrow.
And Michael, I am counting on you for the counting :). Thanks for taking the boring job, maybe some the quotes will keep you entertained while you are wrestling with MS-Excel or something else for counting. Also I would like to hear your opinion on this draft.
Awesome job. Thanks to Dragon246 and Micheal Ireland for putting the time to do this. Also, thanks for preparing the above post. Also, glad to see "fucking amazing games" up there :)
Hopefully the VG community as well as the staff pay attention to this and participate.
Voting closed on 1st of December? Surely that's a misprint? That's less than a week away. I assume you mean 1st January?
No worries on the counting. I'm used to doing this sort of tedious crap. =P
Draft is fine, though a longer introduction might help.
@Red
Thanks again. Look forward to vote tomorrow!
@Ireland
Yep, a printing error it is.
Whats a "lover introduction"?
....
"longer".
Wow, what a typo.
@Ireland
I purposefully tried to keep it short, knowing how short peoples attention span on internet are and how no one reads rules. Do you really think a longer post will be attractive (and lovely :) ). If so, what should I add?
To the Irish man:
In case you need help with counting votes - this is blindly assuming you have little competence with spreadsheets - I've set up a small but illustrative prototype on Google Docs:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aop0b5rraTV0dFdDaFFxX1FBZ0J2c1V4dnF1WXVKMFE
The total Votes and Points fields are of course automated (you can see the greyed out functions) and can be pasted into any column. These should preferrably be evaluated only once voting ends so your cell ranges for the SUM and COUNT are foolproof. Unfortunately, sorting the points and votes into the desired order will require you to set up another sheet (see Sheet2) and put them into columns of their own. When copying the cell, you'll have to either type the numbers in or use 'Paste Special'->'Value Only'.
Another feature I've put in there is Conditional Formatting which can be found under 'Format'. Basically, you highlight a huge region of the sheet where you know your values have to be between 1 and 3, then go to Conditional Formatting, and set up a "IF NOT BETWEEN 1 AND 3 -> Change Background to RED" condition.
If you want to quickly search for a column containing a specific game, just use CTRL+F to find it.
Finally, there's a nice option in GoogleDocs that allows you to 'Publish the Spreadsheet to Web' (it's under FILE), which basically means that anyone with the link can see a read-only 'webpage' containing the Spreadsheet. Any changes you make are then automatically reflected on the page - so presumably, if you're tallying up the votes every few days, people can effectively see which game is leading without having to go through all the thread posts. I do not recommend doing this, but it's a neat trick nontheless.
