I just finished TWD and... wait I'll just mention again SPOILERS so no idiot ends up saying they was not warned, ok where was I?

The entire game was awesome but the last episode "No Time Left" was absolutely tremendous, never have I felt absolute dread with every steap yet feeling drawn to finding Clemintine. When you do see her, the delight of hearing her voice really shocked me. I had to remind myself "ok mate, its just a game" lol

The ending did it for me though, I'm actually still reeling from it which Is why I'm written this now. AWESOME!!! Fucking AWESOME!!! The game as a whole will be talked about for years for not only doing an episodic game that works but an experience that didnt just make you decide like you where the main character but didnt make you the focus of it.

I wont touch on the moments within the last episode only because they all were pretty fucking sick but I will say that I didnt care If I was to die or not I just wanted to save Clem and I honestly commend TellTale for that. I dont usually vote on GOTY because the media always tend to favour the AAAs or..... COD! But I'm gonna no doubt vote for TWD this year as no other game has made me shake with adrenaline and suspense while playing... such a TWD has.

Also what do you guys think of the end credits scene? Interesting right?

I hope season 2 is 20 years later and YOU get to play as Clem, and depending what youve put her through determines what type of character she becomes in season 2, that'll be fucking insane.

Exactly, I've just been thinking that getting to play as Clem or at least follow her in the next season would be awesome. 20 seems like a bit too much, I would be okay with 2-3 years. But if they did 20 then they would also have to deal with how The Walking Dead-world looks like then. I'm not sure how far the comics are in years, but the TV show should only be a few years if that.

And yeah, hopefully that is Omid and Christa. Not sure how Clem would survive without at least going with them for a while until she becomes a badass like Molly. It would be cool if certain choices you did are discussed or referenced to in season 2. But her entire character might be difficult to change depending on what choices you did.

And I agree, totally awesome finale. I cut off Lee's arm so I thought he might be able to survive, but this is so much better. So much damn despair when you know Lee's going to die, and Clem will be alone afterwards.

Also, a good episode in that I didn't feel bored for one second. Only took a break to make dinner.

Yeah man, your right, I wasnt bored at all too usually I'd play a TWD episode in a few session; rarely do I play it all at once but this episode was a length of a really engaging film that had to be finished. So I think the length for some might be short but when you factor its a section of a five episode game Its really not bad at all.

My fiance hasnt played it yet so when I get in tonight Im gonna watch her play it... It'll be interesting.

They probably won't be continuing the thread with Clem and co. Omid and Christa were those people that had won the contest so I doubt they will be continuing with that aswell.

Tell tales has something here and how the Season began and ended there is no need to create a series to follow Clem. They can go any direction they want with the series and I hope they do. This season is complete and now they can move on to do something else with the franchise.

Just finished it. ... Yes the ending pushed all strings. I'm depressed and thankful. God, i love games like these. I fucking knew this game was something special after playing the first episode. Really intelligent, good writing and my biggest complaint; Kenny redeemed himself at the end.

First Spec Ops: The Line, now The Walking Dead. 2012 might actually be a gaming year worth talking about after all. One thing's for sure though, after playing those two, all games after that have to really step up their writing, story and presentation. There's just no way a game like Assassin's Creed 3 could make me care when i have a game like this!

Fun shouldn't be the only emotion i feel when playing games.

After finishing the final chapter last night, this is without any questionable doubt my game of the year, and probably one of the best games of this entire generation, if not ever.

I'm still impressed by how 'small' the game is. The models, the gameplay, the animation, the characters. Everything kept to a minimum, yet it made such a huge impression. If anything this game shows that as long as you have a strong script and a good way to deliver those important moments, your game will be successful.

THats exagerating the game is horribly bugged. The game had problems properly updating the saves so when I played Ep 2-4 every time it would revert to a save saying I had not completed the previous episode. I had spent hours finding what is going on in the game, thanks to my technical knowledge, after I found it for one episode something would change with the next episode possibly a patch would make me again find the problem. I wouldn't say its a game of the year because of bugs like that especially since Tell Tale forums is bogged down with people complaining about losing their saves on the console which my solution wouldn't work, one of the perks of playing on PC.

I would say one of the best plots for a game though. Tell Tale just needs to look into getting better programmers because that issue has pissed me off so much instead of playing the series I would waste my little time I have fixing their game.

I definitely agree in that future games from Tellatale need better optimization. Definitely not a smooth ride, although it only annoyed me a bit. Got better after I used my school's laptop instead of my own. Think it was even worse with Jurassic Park.

The game is most definitely making my Top Ten of best gaming experiences of 2012, maybe even Top Five.

Beat it yesterday morning before work. The single most depressing platinum I've ever earned.

I know Telltales have said that you should keep your saves for Season 2, so I do think there will be cameos, at the very least, from Clem, Christa, and Omid.

As for going 20 years in the future, though, I doubt they'll do that, because it might conflict with Kirkman's canon. It takes place in the world of the comic (Lily, Glenn, and Hershel show up later on at various points of it) and that has only gone two years after the zombie apocalypse, storywise.

I just hope Clem is back in it fpr season 2, I never usually get so attached to a game character but I began to feel genuinely worried about her whenever she was missing and she the stranger took her all I wanted to do was get her back, bite or no bite and if cutting off Lee's arm helped give him more time so be it.

A very powerful game, some glitches but they were bearable and the impact was undamaged so now I'm going to read the comic seeing as characters from it are in it just to see what happened to them next.

GOTY...it has my vote, here's hoping season 2 is better.

Uh the game follows the comic very loosely there is only 2 characters from the show and comic in Tell Tale's version and if you think the comic has the same story writing you would be sorely mistaken in fact it lacks on that front.

My problem was how many of the choices affected next to nothing, just some dialogue. Other than that, overall a very good game that surprised me how good it was.

@PB I agree that the game's storyline is really good, but the comics are unmatched on that front. The way I got attached to every character in part, and the suprises it gave me, I don't think anything, be it game or comic book, will match it's story soon enough.

@Christopher Jack Yeah, the choices were kinda disappointing, but it's ok that they at least try to offer some. I hope the second season improves on that front.

I have read the entire collection of the Walking Dead series and every single character is just there. They serve no purpose other than to be there when shit hits the fan. Never got any type of emotion from the comic that the Tell Tale game had.

As far as the choices go don't expect too much out of the series. THey are a much smaller team than any big publisher developer and use a lot of outside studios for help. They can't go all out like Bioware or CDProjekt can. They don't have that kind of resources.

@PB Fair point about both things, but you have to take into account that the game had less characters than the comic book has, and it covered a very small time frame. They wanted to showcase Lee's adventure, while the comic book presents the overall life after the zombie apocalypse, so of course the emotion might seem watered down a bit. I dunno, but when Glenn got fucked up I went full rage. I don't think any comic book mind-played me as much as this one did. And don't get me started on Tyreese...

@Phoenixblight - There's 3 from the comic (Lily, Glenn, and Shawn) and one is already dead when he's shown there (Shawn), but we only see that person getting bitten in the game.

I do agree though, that the game has stronger writing than the comic. I'd say it's game>comic>tv show.

Yeah, the TV show is the worst of the bunch. But it's not that bad either, so that might have something to say about this series value.

I've only watched the first two episodes, and they were ok, but then I had this urge to re-watch Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Arrow, so I abandoned it completely :P.

Bit harsh guys, If it wasn't for the TV series me and many others wouldn't be a fan of the franchise.

Sorry if the writting isn't up to par to what your used to but damn you could do a lot worse right? It goes without saying they put alot into the TV show and is popular for good reason.

The show in my opinion is amazing. Breaking Bad>Dexter>Walking Dead.

The show is only good for the first season and what the original director did with it along with it being about zombies. Now its just a time killer.

Dexter>Breaking bad>Game of Thrones>Boardwalk>Spartacus>True Blood(yes even that show is better than walking Dead)>walking Dead

I think Dexter has been pretty shitty for a long while. Characters do stupid things whenever it's necessary for Dexter to get away with stuff. For example, in the recent season finale, no one thinks to call for backup when going to a mysterious place. And no one will suspect someone whose files were being looked at in connection with a murder. Too many huge plot holes.

Best show on television right now is Breaking Bad, then comes Games of Thrones. Homeland used to be tied with Game of Thrones, but the last season was all over the place and, at times, started to become 24: Female Edition.

True Blood is not a good show, but it's fun show. That said, I enjoy it a lot more than Walking Dead.

I personally think the ending was bad because of the replay value and the way they made it. I mean who replays a game where you die(in the plot line) every time no matter what? I loved lee mostly because I developed his character and he was the sole guardian of clementine. The ending was bad enough when I realized kenny, ben, and just about everybody else was not gonna live. I chose many things in the game but apparently it isnt tailored to what I do
1)Everyone you can save dies anyway
2) Lee the main character who was supposed to develop through the story dies no matter what
3)Clementine is alone and as even the people who made the game specified she was the selling point of the story
4)It all happened because your companions took supplies from someone who was gone because he lost his son in other words was crazy to the point of chasing down a stranger in an apocalypse because he took your crap
Im gonna use mass effect as an example. I played ALL mass effects around 5 times excluding the last one. Why? Because the ending sucked i sold it next day for half price which when I beat it was 1 week after day one. i dont like the ending not because I believe in happy endings because I was fine with kenny dying and ben and carly and doug ect. BUT Lee was too far because he was the sole protector of clementine I felt as if no choices mattered. Ben lives he dies last episode back up kenny well f*** you because he dies as well. Wanted to raise Clementine right and make her feel good well you are just an unlucky mother****** aren't ya because lee dies. I could go back and yell at her your not my problem little girl and guess what oh wait you know nothing the story isnt tailored to you. It seems as such when you pick who dies FIRST but in the end they all die even lee and thats not cool and or kosher with me and as I said not because it was not a "happy ending" its because the game is made to be your choice im pretty sure that lee dying was not very many peoples choices maybe killing kenny wasnt or even seeing ben die or letting him die or whatever you did the choice wasnt anyones because it all fell apart with a guy who lost his stuff and got really PO'ed and especially when I didnt take the supplies and he got mad at me well that was weird and when I realized all that everyone died for was supplies that one guy missed i knew the game no matter how previously good was ruined. Sure it was a twist knowing that the guy was watching and waiting but why? Could it have not been Clementine was captured by someone who had her parents? Maybe even something like you get on a boat without clem being captured and than find a farm or something nice that can sustain you and thats the thing you build on humanity from there. Or better yet how about a cliffhanger into the next one lee meets a new group with clementine in tow and they make the story different this time as in they know what they are doing and are with a capable bunch maybe even settle down and the season is making it work in one area where zombies are wreaking havoc and than season 3 or even one of the episodes they get displaced and go to some of the areas the walking dead show has been to maybe hershels farm after the desertion or something like that. I just thought up several ideas that could be better than the ending and I wish lee survived just for the sake of clem or even of that doesnt matter the replay value of it all. Please update this or even make an alternate ending to play since It is a terrible ending in my opinion full of emotion but not of the right kind it should be sad you lost a lot but hopeful that you still keep clem safe.

@WalkingDeadFan, I share your criticisms but I still think it was a nice ride. Earlier I mentioned that my main critique was the lack of meaningful choices. I don't think that anybody that you have the 'choice' to save actually lives. The only time your choices effects someone's fate are when the option has nothing to do with them such as Chet in ep1(He dies or lives depending on the time you leave), everyone else will either live or die by the end regardless of your decisions.
