   Just a quick post to talk about most reviewers weird obsession with mentioning Wii sports when talking about the Wii U.

   I've now read at least 5 reviews of the hardware where they mentioned the Wii U hasn't got the same 'killer app' as the Wii did with Wii Sports.

   I think Nintendoland has caused confusion... It's not the Wii U's killer app and it was never supposed to be.

   I think it's Miiverse.

   This to me is the 'killer app' Nintendo are looking for with Wii U and it seems to be largely ignored or brushed over.

   Yes Nintendoland shows you how to use the tablet, but Miiverse really takes things in a new direction.

   Finally having a specialised Gamefaqs / Twitter / Facebook style intergration with your gaming is going to be huge I think. Obviously there's a few teething problems (speed etc...) but im sure these will be ironed out soon with an update.

   This is what Nintendo does best; pooling there old ideas together into one system.

   Wii OS, Pictochat (DS), Game Guide (Wii) = Miiverse.

   I think this feature is definatly the Wii U's 'killer app', and it's been largely ignored by most people reviewing the hardware which is a shame.

   Can anyone who has a Wii U tell me how your getting on with this feature? (Oldergamer etc...)

   To me, it's a game changer.

   That's just a message board.

   Useful, but it isn't a game that showcases the WiiU which is what a 'killer app' needs to be.

   I bought a Wii on the strength of Wii Sports alone. I'd have bought it if no other games were ever released on it. That's a killer app.

   I go on message boards every day. Big fat whoop, frankly.

   It is and it isn't 'just a message board'...

   Just checks some of the comments under the article from people who have been actually using it.

   Going on messaage boards and logging onto Miiverse are worlds apart.

   It's like saying the Vita / PS3 combo is the same as the Wii U and tablet pad.

   I get what your saying about Wii sports, needed really needed that game otherwise people would have been baffled by the Wiimote.

   I think Miiverse actually shows people the potential of the tablet pad far better than Nintendoland, it's just Nintendo hasn't advertised it well enough at all.

   The Kotaku video was the first one i've seen that should it's true potential. The fact that every game has this functionality is going to be huge in the long run.

   It adds a much needed sense of community to online play, the drawings are a huge plus I think. MS and Sony's offerings (even home), look positivly sterile compared to the Wii U now.

   I just think they should have shown off this feature more than trying to explain everything the Wii U can do all the time in adverts.

   I do like this idea. Bringing the community aspects into the system rather than branching out into other social media. Not sure its what I'd call a killer app, but if you have a good community of friends I can see it being a nice additional feature.

   Incidentally the Vita OS does already do something along these lines. This obviously takes it a step further. On Vita you get a friend activity feed associated with each game - accessible by pausing the game. You can then add comments and discussions around the activity.

   i saw this on kotaku too that you can capture a image of the game where you have problems put it with a comment to find help for other players while you are playing, continue with your gaming session and then receiving the responds and tips for other players, i found this very good IMHO.

   I would have to agree I didn't even try Miiverse the first day of tinkering, but it is a hella nice thing.

   i think miivere has a huge potential and it´s great from nintendo not to copy/paste trophies/achievements but come up with something like miiverse. well done! you gotta love em just for that. miiverse feels much more personal than what xbl offers and i am pretty sure the copying is already in the making from msony.
   that said, i think i´ll get my wiiu later, probably in spring....i played all the nsmb games and i really don´t feel like playing another one just yet and zombi u, while looking good, really isn´t something i REALLY need to play instantly. there´s tons of good stuff coming for ps360. i am having a backlog too. to me it´s bad timing. 350 euros plus 150/180 for 3 games or so is serious cash. i love nintendo. i have a zombi u and a deluxe wiiu preorder running but i think i´ll cancel. I WILL get the wii u at some point but i´ll wait for a moment when i truly, deeply desire it. the moment when link or samus arrives i guess.
