Oribit, the Dreamcast was my all time fav system. In NA it sold 5million unit(very impressive at the time), and had the srongest launch in history(at the time). It failed in JPN, and Sega being JPN born and focsed they pulled the plug. Doing poorly in JPN, they felt, meant failure. Nevermind that NA is the largets market by a large margin, and JPN was infact, at the time, on the brink of complete surrender to handheld gaming.
But yes I freaken loved the Dreamcast. While some folks were playing sp jpn flavoured games, I was playing a bevey of online games. From NFL2K to Speed Devils Online to Phantasy Star Online to Quake Online to Unreal Online, etc..
So many quality games, and the Dreamcast wast way a head of it time.
Where the WiiU reminds me of Dreamcast is because it can do things other systems can't, its graphics are ahead of current systems, but close enough with next "gen" systems it won't matter for years. Comparing graphics to current gen systems is like comparing TG16 to NES/Master system. Everything on WiiU is bigger, brighter and just pops. I make that comparision because TG16 basicly ran a 8bit system. It was just a better one, and it could compete with 16bit systems.
I think the WiiU can be looked at like both Dreamcast and TG16.
I can not overstate how impressed I was of the WiiU. I was actualy considering selling mine. Not anymore, I just preordered a couple more games instead. I have also read that some jurnos have had the same type of reaction after some hands on(including Pat G). It really impressed me.
