good idea really. seriously, i think 360 will at least last for another year. even if you´ll only get all the halo and gears games it will be worth it imho. there are also some truly great exclusive xbl arcade games like shadow complex..

I have a new job that's why we decided to buy one as a present for our selfs.
Its the 250 Slim model, so a little bit more RROD safety and bigger HD.
I was really disappointed of PS Move and Kinect doesn't seem to be the killer feature, so I bought the 360 without it.Already owned The Witcher 2 and Alan Wake, but ordered NFS Most Wanted (the old one) and Viva Pinata too. The first XBL game we will buy is ilomilo. And the now we can play Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Blue Dragon and Magna Carta 2.
Played PS3 and Wii to death and the Wii U is coming but its time for some Xbox. I have a PC too, but when I can play a game on console, i prefer it (Prey, Quake 4, Metro 2033 and Risen 1 for example).
The funny thing is, that I played Halo some months ago for the first time on the original xbox I bought on ebay and can't wait to play the other ones.

I played a lot on the wii this gen too, bought one late though, 1.5 years ago. i had almost every nintnendo console before that and was hyped pre launch for the wii. when it arrived i was kind of disappointed and didn´t buy one at launch....then i finally did and man did i regret waiting so damn long. so many awesome games. played the hell out of that thing the last year or so and loved every second. exploring wii late also helped me deal with my current gen fatique too, so waiting that long might have been a good idea even. with the 360 this could work for you just the same. exploring games you haven´t played on that thing will probably keep you busy and excited ´till the nextgen rolls out.
have the ps3 too but really don´t use it so much. it´s a great console as well with some great exclusive games but this gen xbox really convinced me, was definiteley my main console.
also have a 3ds and love it to death.
i had a pc too but not anymore. had an asus gaming laptop as well, in the time when cod 4 and orange box came out. was so great to take those games on the go...don´t have all that stuff anymore tho. kind of miss steam though i must say. will probably get a games pc as soon as my current machine dies and it looks like it´ll happen pretty soon.
strange thing is: i pefer plaing on consoles too. even fps. i just like it more. i LOVE the 360 pad btw, really do. i am jealous that you can play the halo games now and they´ll feel fresh to you. they all definiteley need a first or second playthrough on heroic. it´s no lie that people say they are best played that way. AI is really impressive on that difficulty.
if you´ll add me on tuesday you´ll probably see me playing halo 4 on a very unhealthy level...;)Posted 6 months ago # -

Thats how it has to be done. Don't know why ppl want a new console when they even hadn't bought the other consoles. Its no shame as a fan of a product to say how great it is, also no shame to say how great the other consoles are, too. I don't know if we both are a rare type of gamer, but that's how its done baby.
I know what you mean with the heroic setting, can't wait to see the true potential of this game. Heard that the new is extremely hard on heroic^^
btw, do you use the 3D effect of the 3DS? We are never using it, afraid of getting a mashed-brain xD My GF is playing the new Layton and is happy as hell.

hehe my girlfriend isn´t that much into games in general but for some she´s really into it. she especially likes nintendo games that we can play coop, like the kirby wii games or games like rayman origins, because she loves the artdesign and especially the music. layton is definiteley one of those games she likes too. she still hasn´t finished all the ds laytons but i think that´ll soon be the case...
i use the 3d effect mostly but not the full effect. imo many 3ds games look best when the switch is half way up.i´ve heard that about halo 4 too....i will probably start on normal then. really want to enjoy the story the first time i play it. i do not replay many games but some i do. halo 4 i will definiteley replay, i know that already, replayed them all at least once. i just like the gameplay. they are fun games and on harder dificulties they really do play different. they are not just more unforgiving or even frustrating, just more challenging. really like that about halo. halo 4 i will be starting on normal probably, then heroic....and if i am brave enough legendary one day.

replayed the first few chapters of alan wake recently btw, because i was in the mood for some horror/thriller stuff...that game is pretty good in stroy telling imo, will probably do another playthrough, not because of trophies (Edit: sorry achievements;) but because i want to enjoy the story a second time. the same enemies coming over and over is an issue in alan wake, but overall really a fun game and definiteley a cool game to play in the fall/ winter.

Oh, okay. Didn't know that it was a horror title, thought more about adventure stuff. Heard that that Alan Wake has a very bad ending...but I will find this out soon. And for online gaming I need the Gold status? Can I still chat with one person on Silver or just text messages? And are the MS Points international? So I buy them cheap in the US and use them on a German or UK account? Sorry for those questions..just want to be prepared :)

well....it´s not really horror more like an adventure, for sure but it has a nice thriller vibe to it. if you (like me) love good horror movies it´s certainly no horror for you. game is usk 16 in germany....in germany! being the Kraut you are you should know what that means ;)
so it really is a kids game, but with some tense moments. let´s just put it this way. i think the atmosphee is great. it wears off a little while you keep playing through it though as far as i can recall it.
XBL: you need gold to play online. you can check for 3,6 or 12 months, 12+1 months subscriptions on ebay. it´s definiteley much cheaper that way. i think you can find a 12 month membership for 30, 35 euro on ebay and imho it is totally worth that. i cannot recall what you can and cannot do with silver membership exactly. i haven´t tried for ages. i´d really buy a code from a trusted ebay shop. you get a mail with a code and redeem that code on the 360 and you are ready to go. thats how i always do it. points are international i think and also much cheaper to buy them online. do not forget to change in your console settings ("account management" i think) that you do not want xbl gold to automatically reactivate once your subscription expired. if you don´t turn that off you´ll pay 5,99 (i think) each month for gold after your prepaid membership expired (untill you redeem the next code that is) always go for 3,6,12 months codes and then remember when it will expire and then decide for yourself if you want 3 or whatever more months. it really is cheper than the ms, monthly fee.
this is the only downside of live.

Yeah..USK 16 is...well..nothing^^. Will buy a Gold Card maybe next month or so. Saw that the Halo 4 Limited Edition comes with a 14-days-trial which is a good start. Thank you for the infos and I hope I can add you on Tuesday.

i am from berlin...well i moved from the center to the outskirts a year ago. i love it here. 10 minutes by car and i am in the woods, with some nice lakes too and all. still work in the city tho.
feels really good atm - best of both worlds...

I recomend also star ocean , eternal sonata and tales of vesperia, really good RPGs, especially star ocean, also banjo nuts and bolts, kameo, for starters, on the XBLA front i do really recomend torchlight, dust, mark of the ninja, and gotham city impostors ( for multiplayer gaming experience if you are into those things)

250Gb Slim = £159.99
Kinect = £87.99
